The Position:

The Sales Engineer plays a critical role in supporting the sales process and managing new store implementations. Working closely with clients, the sales team, and internal operational groups, the Sales Engineer is a key contributor from pre-sales through to site launch and the handover to operations and the client success team.

This role requires the ability to deliver comprehensive demonstrations of the product to both technical and non-technical audiences during pre- and post-sales meetings. Additionally, the Sales Engineer will communicate the status of new store launches across the organization and continuously seek to improve the client store implementation process.

This position is based in Singapore and reports to the Senior Director of Pre-Sales and Implementation, who is located in the U.S.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead technical sales presentations, product design, and integration discussions to support key sales and business development opportunities.
  • Act as the technical liaison between Sales and Product teams to address technology-related buying objections from prospects.
  • Independently manage all aspects of technical product evaluations, from integration with FastSpring’s platform to data interpretation within customer environments.
  • Architect, demonstrate, and lead seamless integrations of FastSpring’s platform and advanced e-commerce services to optimize strategic accounts.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction throughout the implementation process and assist in resolving any technical issues.
  • Collaborate with sales representatives to align technical aspects of the sale and generate new business while growing existing accounts.
  • Prepare and present technical proposals, RFIs, and RFP responses; provide technical training to clients, and share customer feedback for future product development.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by participating in workshops, networking, and staying informed on industry developments.

Qualifications: 

  • Dual proficiency in Chinese and English.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience supporting SaaS, web applications, and e-commerce technologies. Payments industry experience is a plus.
  • Strong front-end development skills in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript; experience with SPA frameworks like React or Vue is a bonus.
  • Proficient in back-end languages like Python or PHP, and API integration tools such as Postman.
  • Strong CMS administrative skills, especially with WordPress or WooCommerce.
  • Solid eCommerce domain knowledge, including checkout processes, DRMs, fulfillment solutions, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and Payment Gateways.
  • Experience in customer success, technical support, or development is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with sales methodologies like Selling Through Curiosity is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal, and leadership skills with the ability to engage both executive and technical audiences (both written and verbal).
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong calendar management and meeting coordination skills.
  • Quick learner with a desire to stay current with evolving technologies and the ability to work independently toward results.
  • Adaptability to changing goals based on customer demands and market conditions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and calm, focused demeanor under pressure.
  • Proficiency with Google Suite and working knowledge of Salesforce, Gong, JIRA, Confluence, and Looker is a plus.
