Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Athletic Development Coach to join our team. This role will focus on creating robust, durable athletes who can excel in future football environments. The ideal candidate will have a background in gym-based training methodology, physical education concepts, as well as experience with on- and off-field programming.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive athletic development programs that prioritize strength, conditioning, and injury prevention tailored specifically for youth football athletes.
  • Conduct assessments to identify individual athlete needs
  • Collaborate with coaching staff to integrate athletic development into overall football training and practice sessions.
  • Educate and mentor athletes on the importance of physical conditioning, nutrition, and recovery strategies.
  • Monitor athlete progress through regular evaluations and adjust programs as necessary to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Foster a positive and motivating training environment that encourages athlete engagement and development.
  • Stay current with the latest trends and research in athletic development and youth sports training.

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Sports Science, or a related field. Master’s degree in related fields is preferred.
  • Proven experience working with youth athletes, preferably in a football setting.
  • Certification in strength and conditioning (e.g., NSCA, CSCS, or equivalent) or current pursuit of these accreditations is required.

  • Strong understanding of physical development concepts, Long Term Athletic Development (LTAD), injury prevention, and return to play progressions.

About FCC Performance Department

The FC Cincinnati Performance Department (FCCPD) is a multi-disciplinary group striving to optimize athlete performance through an athlete-centered approach to fitness, health, and wellness. This team of practitioners focuses on being communicative, compassionate, and consistent in all aspects of athlete care and is focused on helping athletes perform at maximal levels from Day 1 of preseason through to the MLS Cup Final.  Our goal is to help FC Cincinnati establish itself as a dynasty in the MLS and a destination for athletes striving to reach their highest levels of performance. In pursuit of this vision, FCCPD is seeking a high-energy and creative individual to serve as our Academy Athletic Development Coach, who will aid in our pursuit of excellence and continually strive to expand our knowledge. This individual should be consistent in searching for the next best ideas to support our team’s objectives and support our athletes’ pursuit of excellence.  All while being laser-focused on developing athletes to progress through FC Cincinnati’s Academy structure into the professional ranks.
