Job Title: Lead Academy Goalkeeper (GK) Coach - U15 through U18 (pre-pro)

Department: FCC Academy

Reports To: Director of Player Development (DPD), Director of Goalkeeping

Job Summary

As the Lead Academy Goalkeeping Coach (pre-pro) with FC Cincinnati, you are responsible for coaching and developing the U15 through U18 Academy goalkeepers in alignment with the FCC Goalkeeper philosophy. You will be leading the daily training sessions, video sessions and responsible for monitoring the pre-pro academy goalkeepers at MHTC. In addition, this role will include scouting & recruitment of all age band goalkeepers for FCC and liaise with fellow FCC goalkeeper coaches to ensure continuity of player development from the Academy through to the 1st Team.

What You’ll Do:

  • Design Academy goalkeeper periodization and training plans for the pre-pro goalkeepers based on the club’s goalkeeping curriculum
  • Lead pre-pro Academy goalkeepers during all training sessions and games while documenting training sessions and individual development plans
  • Integrate goalkeeper development to align with all academy team functions
  • Analyze training/game sessions and create video reviews for goalkeepers and coaches
  • Create scouting reports for your academy goalkeepers
  • Work with Academy Head Coaches to create GK specific pre-game objectives for team presentations prior to all matches
  • Contribute to discussions of goalkeeper retention and release at the end of their contracts or when deemed appropriate
  • Aid in goalkeeper scouting/recruitment within the Academy, including planning and implementing national goalkeeper ID events.

What You’ll Need:

  • USSF B License preferred
  • Goalkeeping License preferred
  • 4+ years of elite youth goalkeeper coaching experience or pro goalkeeper coaching experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office and MacOS
  • Ability to travel to away games and annual events/showcases
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Must have reliable means of transportation to and from MHTC and all matches
  • Ability to work outside of regular business hours including but not limited to nights, weekends and holidays as required by the FCC game schedule, special events, and projects

  • Knowledge of the current youth goalkeeping pool throughout the US
  • Knowledge of MLS goalkeeping
  • An understanding of working in a professional soccer environment
  • Experience in combining practical on-field knowledge with off-field planning and assessment
  • Collaborative mindset to achieve a multidisciplinary approach with fellow coaches
  • Ability to assist with head coaches if needed in sessions
  • High level of on-field expertise and strong ability to design, plan, and execute several off-field projects
  • A life-long learner with a growth mindset
  • Proven leadership and communication skills and strong work ethic
  • Competency in using analysis software particularly Hudl/Sportscode, in-play, angles
