The Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accountant to join our Asia finance team in Hong Kong. This role supports the day-to-day accounting operations of the firm, with a focus on audit support, tax compliance, and financial reporting across the Hong Kong, Singapore, and China entities.

The ideal candidate will be someone who takes ownership of their work, communicates clearly with internal and external stakeholders, and is comfortable operating in a fast-paced professional services environment. Experience with VAT/GST filing across Singapore and China jurisdictions will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

  • Handle the company’s accounting work, including bookkeeping, voucher/invoice entry, account reconciliations, and monthly closing.
  • Reconcile and verify revenue, costs, and expenses to ensure accurate and compliant accounting treatment.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and management reports.
  • Support the statutory audit process by preparing and maintaining accurate financial records and providing necessary documentation to auditors in a timely manner.
  • Assist with tax filing obligations across Hong Kong, Singapore, and China, including GST/VAT compliance and corporate income tax matters.
  • Support accounts payable and billing functions, including invoice processing, payment coordination, and vendor or client set-up.
  • Review and process employee expense reports and corporate account expenditures in accordance with company policy.
  • Contribute to process improvements to enhance efficiency in the Asia finance function.
  • Perform ad hoc finance and administrative duties as required.

Desired Skills & Qualities

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related discipline from a recognised university, with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • At least 2 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a professional services or multinational environment.
  • Experience supporting statutory audits and tax filing is preferred; familiarity with Singapore GST and China VAT filing will be highly considered.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP or accounting systems such as NetSuite is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines independently.
  • Proactive, with good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Cantonese is preferred; Mandarin proficiency is an advantage.
