Impact In This Role
As a Supplier Quality Specialist, your role will be to review the quality inspection of parts and documents provided by Fictiv’s manufacturing partners. You will bring knowledge of manufacturing quality issues and a keen eye for detail, to fulfill our promise of providing the highest quality parts to customers’ requirements.
The Supplier Quality Specialist is focused on hands-on inspection, has a strong presence at MP, and is constantly auditing MP’s QMS looking for improvements. The role is critical in identifying defects, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and supporting the overall quality control efforts within the production environment. This position requires attention to detail, familiarity with measurement tools and equipment, and effective communication with the core team to maintain high-quality output.
You will be instrumental in giving customers the confidence that Fictiv manages their parts to the highest quality standard. You will report to the Supplier Quality Engineer Lead working on-site from our Santa Catarina, México office.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Supplier Monitoring: Maintain a strong on-site presence at our manufacturing partners to monitor production and ensure that quality standards are being upheld daily.
- Order Tracking: Track and report daily order progress, addressing any discrepancies or delays in collaboration with internal teams and suppliers.
- Corrective Action Follow-Up: Manage and follow up on all open Corrective Action Requests (CARs) to ensure timely resolution, preventing the recurrence of issues.
- Supplier Audits: Conduct regular quality audits of manufacturing partners, documenting findings and working with suppliers to implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements both at supplier facilities and within internal operations to optimize quality and efficiency.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of supplier performance, CAR status, and audit findings.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams including production, supply chain, and quality to align goals and ensure seamless communication.
Desired Background & Traits
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in supplier quality management or a related role.
- Strong understanding of quality systems and standards (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949).
- Experience with corrective action processes and supplier audits.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external suppliers.
- Problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause analysis and preventive action.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to travel frequently and work on-site at supplier facilities.
- Strong English and Spanish business communication skills are required
