We're seeking an Integrations Engineering Manager to lead our integration engineering team while maintaining deep technical involvement in MuleSoft integration solutions. This role combines hands-on technical leadership with people management, ensuring the smooth, efficient, and reliable operation of integration solutions while building and developing a high-performing engineering team. You will be responsible for the technical architecture and team development, ensuring data flows seamlessly between various systems and applications while fostering engineering excellence.

What You’ll Be Doing

Team Leadership & People Management

  • Hire, onboard, and develop integration engineers, creating clear career progression paths.
  • Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and provide ongoing coaching and mentorship.
  • Set team goals, manage capacity planning, and align team objectives with business priorities.
  • Foster a collaborative, learning-oriented culture that promotes technical excellence and innovation.
  • Partner with Product and other engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions.

Technical Leadership & Architecture

  • Define and drive the integration architecture strategy and technical roadmap.
  • Lead development of integrations between enterprise systems: CRM, ERP, PLM, and Finance systems, such as Salesforce and NetSuite.
  • Provide technical guidance, code reviews, and architectural decisions for complex integration challenges.
  • Ensure robust and well-tested solutions with Munit and end-to-end testing.
  • Establish and enforce integration development standards, patterns, and best practices.
  • Remain technically involved in complex integrations, troubleshooting, and architectural decisions.

Operations, Maintenance & Platform Management

  • Oversee MuleSoft integration performance, health, and stability using monitoring tools.
  • Lead response to integration-related incidents and ensure timely resolution.
  • Perform regular maintenance tasks, including applying patches, upgrades, and security fixes.
  • Identify and implement optimizations for integration performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Implement best practices for MuleSoft operations and infrastructure management.
  • Document operational procedures, knowledge base articles, and system configurations.
  • Ensure integrations meet security policies, standards, and compliance requirements.

Deployment and Release Management:

  • Lead the deployment of MuleSoft applications and integrations across different environments (development, testing, production).
  • Understand modern software development practices, including Agile, CI/CD, and building distributed systems for scalability and resilience.
  • Coordinate with development teams to ensure smooth and successful releases.
  • Manage and maintain deployment pipelines and automation processes.

Strategic & Business Collaboration

  • Work with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
  • Lead integration initiatives from planning through delivery, ensuring quality and timelines.
  • Communicate technical concepts, project status, and strategic recommendations to technical and business audiences.
  • Collaborate with vendors and support providers to optimize platform capabilities.

Desired Traits

Management & Leadership Experience

  • 3+ years of engineering management experience, including hiring, performance management, and team development
  • Experience managing technical teams of 3-8 engineers with demonstrated ability to scale teams
  • Track record of building high-performing teams and developing engineering talent
  • Experience with agile methodologies and leading cross-functional initiatives

Technical Expertise

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, including MuleSoft Flow development, API Manager, and Anypoint Studio.
  • Have earned the Mulesoft Certified Platform Architect - Level 1 certification.
  • Deep Understanding of integration patterns, ESB concepts, and API-led connectivity.
  • Proficiency in working with various data formats (JSON, XML, CSV) and protocols (HTTP, REST, SOAP, JMS).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) and MuleSoft CloudHub 2.0, Runtime Fabric.
  • Familiarity with Supply Chain-focused integrations and solutions.
  • Knowledge of monitoring tools (e.g., Datadog, etc.) and logging frameworks.
  • Understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools.
  • Deep understanding of networking, security, and infrastructure concepts.
  • Deep understanding of Mulesoft API-led connectivity, integration best practices, and engineering principles.
  • Familiarity with Supply Chain focused systems and integrations, such as CRM, ERP, PLM, and Finance systems.
  • Experience in creating, configuring, and managing API Gateway, API Policies, API Versioning, and Contract Addition.
  • Strong understanding of relational databases and fluency with SQL.
  • Should know about creating and maintaining documentation related to services, solutions, and interfaces.
  • Knowledge or previous experience in designing public and private enterprise secure services using RAML and REST-based APIs and SOAP-based APIs.
  • Working experience with either Java, JavaScript, .NET, or Python.
  • Desire and ability to mentor and guide integration engineers.
  • Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues in a timely manner.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a systematic approach.
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis and identify effective solutions.

  • Experience in managing and supporting enterprise-level applications and integrations.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage incidents, and work under pressure.
  • Experience with system monitoring, alerting, and escalation procedures.

Communication and Collaboration Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
