Impact In This Role
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Contract Video Editor to support our in-house creative team. In this role, you will transform raw footage into polished, high-quality video content that reflects our brand, engages our audience, and supports strategic goals.
Working under the direction of the Multimedia Producer & Editor, you will focus on editing a wide range of projects, including short- and long-form promotional videos, branded social media content, internal communications, and event recaps.
The ideal candidate owns their own camera equipment, has strong animation and motion graphics skills, and can take direction well in English—both written and spoken. A strong demo reel showcasing professional, paid video editing and animation work is required.
You will report to the Lead Video Editor.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Edit video projects from rough cut through final delivery, ensuring consistency with brand standards and creative direction.
- Collaborate with the Multimedia Producer & Editor and internal stakeholders to refine narratives, pacing, and visual storytelling.
- Create graphics, titles, and animations independently or with designer/animator support.
- Capture video footage as needed using personal camera equipment (small-scale shoots, b-roll, interviews, and simple setups).
- Optimize video content for various platforms (web, social media, internal channels, live events).
- Organize, catalog, and maintain project files, footage, and deliverables using a structured system.
- Ensure timely delivery of multiple projects while meeting internal deadlines.
- Provide input on repurposing existing footage and assets for future projects.
- Stay current with editing trends, platform requirements, and best practices in video content.
Desired Traits
- Strong visual storytelling and animation/editing skills.
- Ability to take direction well in English (written and spoken).
- Ownership of professional camera equipment.
- Excellent time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving and technical troubleshooting skills.
- 2–3 years of professional video editing and animation experience.
- Strong demo reel highlighting professional, paid editing and animation work.
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects.
- Familiarity with platform requirements (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, etc.).
- Basic skills in audio editing and mixing.
- Experience with Adobe Photoshop or Lightroom for photo adjustments (a plus)
- Valid passport and driver’s license
- Intermediate knowledge in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Indesign or other design software
- Asana, Jira or similar project management programs
- Google Suite
- Slack
