Impact In This Role

The HR Manager is a critical, high-impact leadership role at the intersection of strategy, trust, and execution. The HR Manager for China will be the steward of people systems, culture, and organizational health during a period of scale. They will be both a trusted advisor and a hands-on builder, comfortable operating at the leadership table while rolling up their sleeves to design and run core HR systems. This individual will serve as a primary point of contact for employee concerns, leadership coaching, and organizational development, while also designing and owning the core HR systems that support hiring, onboarding, performance management, compliance, and employee engagement. This person will directly lead a team that manages the various HR functions. The ideal candidate is someone employees trust, leaders rely on, and teams respect—someone who combines strong judgment, emotional intelligence, and operational rigor. We are looking for an experienced Human Resources manager who will be fully responsible for the People Team which covers both human resources and office management. You will report to the HR Director (based in US) and dotted line to the GM (based in China).

What You’ll Be Doing

Talent & Career Systems

- Design and own career ladder and promotion framework

- Establish salary bands (in partnership with external consultants)

- Lead performance, probation, and feedback processes

- Build and manage high-potential development programs Recruiting & Employer Branding

- Own and continuously improve hiring playbook process (keywords, MoSCoW method, centralized files)

- Balance the use of AI tools and with human judgment to optimize the interview process.

- Establish local university partnerships and internship programs - Build and maintain a strong local candidate pipeline and talent database

- Drive Internal referrals as well as parent company Misumi collaboration on talent efforts Training & Capability Building

- Revamp internal training for engagement and relevance

- Lead annual compliance and corporate training programs

- Ensure Professional HR and China labor law literacy

- Partner on IT micro-trainings and skill refreshers

- Support Individual development plans

Culture, Events & Engagement

- Support language programs (English, Japanese) 

- Design high-quality team events with purpose - Lead quarterly celebrations and annual events

- Enable networking and hardware meetups

Office, Facilities & Admin Excellence

- Responsible for the smooth and efficient operations of the new 3500 square meter office.

- Arranging the travel logistics and hosting of visiting colleagues and customers.

- Lead vendor management.

- Apply a continuous improvement mindset to vendor operations Governance, Risk & Trust

- Serve as subject matter expert on China labor law

- Maintain open office hours and feedback channels

- Lead security and compliance training

 - Handle sensitive issues with discretion and integrity

Global Collaboration and Alignment 

- Partnering closely with regional counterparts in US, Mexico, India and Japan. 

- Leading and contributing to global initiatives

- Sharing best practices from the China team that can help level-up Fictiv company-wide

Desired Traits

  • - 10+ years in People Ops, HR, or Operations
  •  - Approachable, high empathy and committed to a high level of service
  • - China-based, fluent Mandarin, strong business English
  • - Comfortable working with foreign leadership styles
  • - Meticulous attention to detail, alongside the ability to see “the big picture.”
  •  - Opinionated but pragmatic
  • - Strong written and systems thinking
  • - Demonstrates sound judgment knows when to escalate vs decide
  • -Thinks in systems and human judgment
  • -Operates comfortably in a global, cross-cultural environment
