Responsibilities

  • Operational Strategy and Planning:
    • Develop and execute the operational strategy in alignment with the company's overall objectives and growth plans.
    • Identify operational opportunities and challenges, and develop action plans to optimize processes, enhance efficiency, and mitigate risks.
    • Collaborate with executive leadership to set operational goals, KPIs, and metrics to measure performance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Process Optimization:
    • Streamline operational processes and workflows to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer experience.
    • Identify and implement automation and technology solutions to optimize operational functions.
    • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure process effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
    • Provide leadership and direction to the operations team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.
    • Recruit, train, and mentor team members, promoting their professional growth and development.
    • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to drive high performance and employee engagement.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
    • Stay updated with industry regulations and ensure operational processes adhere to legal and compliance requirements.
    • Collaborate with compliance and legal teams to develop and implement policies and procedures that align with regulatory guidelines.
    • Conduct regular audits and assessments to monitor compliance and mitigate operational risks.
  • Vendor and Stakeholder Management:
    • Establish and maintain relationships with key vendors, partners, and stakeholders to ensure smooth operational execution.
    • Collaborate with third-party service providers to negotiate contracts, manage service level agreements, and ensure quality service delivery.
    • Evaluate vendor performance and make recommendations for improvements or changes as needed.
  • Risk Management:
    • Identify operational risks and implement appropriate risk management strategies and controls.
    • Develop and maintain business continuity plans to ensure operational resilience in the face of disruptions.
    • Collaborate with the risk management team to assess and mitigate operational risks and ensure adherence to risk management frameworks.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field (Master's or MBA degree preferred).
  • Proven experience (7+ years) in operations management, preferably within the fintech industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of fintech products, services, and operational processes.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks in the financial industry.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to identify operational issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinking and ability to align operational goals with the overall business strategy.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.

 

Bonus Points

  • MBA (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Direct startup or fintech experience.

 

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $180k - $240k+ (depending on experience).
