About The Team

We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Vice President of Security Engineering to lead our DevSecOps and InfoSec teams. This role blends deep technical leadership with organizational management, requiring an executive who can set a compelling vision, grow and coach high-performing teams, and drive measurable outcomes across multiple domains of cybersecurity.

The VP of Security Engineering will report to the CISO and partner with Fireblocks Product & R&D teams, Risk & Security Operations to ensure that security is embedded into every stage of our product and IT lifecycle.

What You'll Do

  • Security Engineering & Architecture
    • Oversee platform security, including container security (e.g., Kubernetes), cloud posture management (AWS/GCP/Azure), and workload identity.
    • Oversee corporate IT and SaaS security, including endpoints, networks, etc. (EDR, DLP, PAM, IDM, SSPM, etc.).
    • Define and enforce secure-by-design principles across product, cloud, IT and infrastructure engineering.
    • Lead security architecture reviews and ensure technical decisions are aligned with business risk and engineering velocity.
    • Partner with Product, R&D, DevOps, SecOps and GRC to scale security tooling, automation, and secure processes.
    • Oversee the development and review of security architecture for all platforms, services, APIs, and CI/CD pipelines.
    • Drive adoption of modern security tooling in both product security)) and corporate/IT security.
    • Lead threat modeling and secure code review efforts across engineering teams.
    • Develop and promote operational resilience, business continuity and disaster recovery plans for both corporate IT, SaaS and infrastrcuture.
    • Research and understanding in offensive security, penetration testing, red/purple teaming, and adversary emulation.
    • Establish and continuously refine a vulnerability management lifecycle: from detection through remediation and verification.
    • Provide executive reporting on real-world exploitable risks and drive remediation through product and infra teams.
  • Leadership & Strategy
    • Define and execute a comprehensive security engineering strategy that aligns with business and product objectives.
    • Establish KPIs, OKRs, and reporting mechanisms to track team performance and risk reduction.
    • Advise the CISO and executive leadership on technological, strategic investments and risk trade-offs.
    • Develop and manage budgets, vendor relationships, and tool rationalization across the security stack.

What You'll Bring

  • Prior experience as a CISO or acting CISO, particularly in high-growth or software-focused environments
  • 10+ years of experience in security engineering, with a minimum of 5+ years leading a global team of engineers 
  • Deep technical knowledge of secure software development, cloud security (AWS/GCP/Azure), and offensive security
  • Proven success in building and scaling teams across platforms, IT, and offensive security domains
