Senior Delivery Manager, Platform
ROLE SUMMARY
Firmus Technologies is seeking a Senior Delivery Manager, Platform to own the delivery of Firmus' software platform into each of our data centres, taking it from plan through commissioning and go-live to operational handover. The platform is what makes our GPU compute operable: the cloud and Kubernetes, CI/CD, GitOps, observability, API, and the tooling our teams build on. You work across internal engineering teams, delivery partners, and contractors to bring each site live, holding delivery to scope, schedule, quality, and commercial commitments. This role is critical to ensure each site deployed securely, on schedule, and with increasing repeatability.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Per-Site Delivery Planning & Sequencing
Own the platform's per-site delivery plan: scope, sequencing, milestones, critical path, and the readiness and acceptance criteria for each go-live. Align with the overall per-site schedule owned by the overall Technical Program Manager (TPM) and hold scope against agreed statements of work.
Deployment & Commissioning
Execute the plan at each site: integration, configuration, migration, and commissioning through to production validation and go-live against the agreed gates. Keep the deployment playbook, runbooks, and standards so every rollout is repeatable rather than bespoke.
Risk, Dependency & Change Governance
Own risk, issue, and change management across the delivery, and coordinate cross-squad and external dependencies with the Tech Leads, platform architect, and delivery TPM. Run the governance cadence of status, milestone tracking, delivery KPIs, and decision logs, and track scope change and budget against plan.
Partner & Contractor Management
Own the delivery-partner and contractor relationship end to end. Scope and brief the work, hold systems integrators and contractors to schedule, quality, and commercials, and retain internal accountability for what they execute in the blended delivery model.
Stakeholder Alignment, Reporting & Handover
Act as the single interface between platform engineering and the site programme, keeping engineering, operations, partners, and executive stakeholders aligned through each deployment. Give the leadership team straight read on status, risk, and the decisions needed. Drive the transition to operations: knowledge transfer, on-call readiness, hyper care, and the exit criteria that let a site hand over clean.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent delivery experience.
- 10+ years delivering complex software or platform programmes to production, owning delivery end to end rather than a single workstream with at least 15 engineers.
- Delivery is your core craft: you bring the pace and ownership that rapid, multi-site expansion demands, and you turn ambiguity and shifting requirements into a workable plan that keeps moving.
- Track record running an integrated plan and critical path across parallel workstreams to a hard go-live, owning dependencies, risk, change, and budget, and coordinating with a wider programme management.
- Proven experience managing delivery partners, systems integrators, and contractors in a blended model, holding them to schedule, quality, and commercials while retaining internal accountability.
- Experience deploying a platform across multiple sites or environments, from commissioning and go-live through operational handover to a run team, and building the repeatable playbook of standards, runbooks, and acceptance gates that makes each rollout faster than the last.
- Proven ability to align engineering, operations, delivery, vendor, and executive stakeholders through complex programmes.
- Enough technical fluency to challenge engineers on software architecture, Kubernetes, CI/CD, cloud and API without a translator, plus a working understanding of the hardware and telemetry domain, including GPU or high-performance compute, out-of-band telemetry such as Redfish and network fabric, enough to manage integration and commissioning.
- Clear and effective written and verbal communication in English. You can give leadership a straight read on a complex delivery, explaining the situation and the decision needed without losing the substance.
- Awareness of delivering against security and compliance controls such as SOC 2 Type 2 and ISO 27001.
Bonus points:
- Experience delivering GPU or AI compute, high-performance computing, or high-density data centre platforms.
- Experience delivering observability, monitoring, or telemetry platforms across metrics, logs, and traces.
- Formal delivery or programme management certification, such as PMP and Agile or Scrum experience.
- Experience introducing AI-assisted or agent-based tooling into delivery or operations.
