Annuities Case Manager

Jersey City

Since 2017, Flourish has been on a mission to help financial advisors evolve from holistic advice to holistic implementation to more fully serve their clients and achieve better outcomes. We focus on independent Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs), delivering financial products that advisors can’t easily access today through beautiful, scalable, and easy-to-use technology.

Today, we work with over 900 RIAs that collectively represent more than $1.6T in assets under management across two products — Flourish Annuities and Flourish Cash — and with our recent acquisition of Sora Finance, we’ll be adding a lending offering in 2026. Headquartered in New York City, we are an independently-operating, wholly-owned subsidiary of MassMutual Life Insurance Company.

Read on if you are interested in joining a small, highly-collaborative, rapidly-growing startup—backed by the support and stability of a Fortune 500 company.

About You

You are an ambitious self-starter looking to join a fast-growing fintech startup as an Annuities Case Manager. You are process driven with a strong understanding of insurance and insurance operations. You love providing truly white-glove support and have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal). You thrive in fast-paced organizations where you can wear many hats and can effectively manage competing priorities.

Beyond providing white-glove case level support, you are also excited to contribute to every aspect of a growing organization, from optimizing the technology we use to preparing reports to thinking strategically about how we can operate more efficiently. You also love collecting feedback to help us better understand and support client requests and act as a key voice in improving the product.

About the Role

Hundreds of billions of dollars in annuities are sold in the United States each year, yet adoption in the RIA space is almost zero. Flourish Annuities leverages a technology-driven insurance desk to bring annuities to the independent RIA space. We're looking for an Annuities Case Manager to provide client and advisor support for both annuity applications and in-force service requests.

In this role, you will report to the Head of Flourish Insurance Agency. You will support insurance agency operations for the Flourish Annuities business line, including completing annuity applications, answering client questions, working with carrier partners to solve complicated issues, and supporting customers throughout the life-cycle of their contract. As we have in place with our other products, you will follow a “customer first” culture to ensure we are delivering best in class service to our end clients, RIAs, and carrier partners.

Equally as important as providing white-glove support will be contributing to our insurance operations. This will include continuing to build the playbook we’ll use to scale our insurance organization, tagging and tracking client issues to identify trends, reporting on metrics used to efficiently run our business, and developing and maintaining internal and external client support materials, from email templates to phone scripts to client-facing FAQs. Given the small size of our team, this role is far more dynamic than the typical case manager role, and will involve operating within a fast-paced, technology centric environment that is constantly evolving.

Responsibilities

  • Process, review, and drive annuity applications to completion
  • Conduct suitability reviews for annuity applications
  • Provide ongoing service and support to existing annuity clients and their advisors
  • Support RIAs and end-clients as needed; answer product and operational questions
  • Foster deep relationships with key operations contacts at RIA firms and insurance carrier partners
  • Ensure our operational processes facilitate smooth transactions, ultimately delivering best-in-class processing times and NIGO rates through our tech-forward approach
  • Support company growth by providing clients with an excellent, white-glove client experience across phone, email and application support
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders, including product teams, sales, and relationship management, to effectively resolve client issues
  • Provide real-time feedback to help us improve our technology as we strive to grow our ever-evolving platform and systems
  • Develop and maintain external client support materials, from email templates to call scripts to FAQs
  • Ensure all support-related tasks are completed in a timely matter, including working past the close of business hours as needed

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in operations, client services, or relationship management
  • Position based in New Jersey; must work in the Jersey City office at least three days/week. Work in/from New York not available.
  • Experience working with annuities, which could include fixed annuities like MYGAs and FIAs or VAs and RILAs
  • Experience communicating with clients, including high net worth individuals and financial advisors
  • Insurance license or willingness to get licensed within 90 days of hire
  • A FINRA Series 7 license or willingness to get licensed within 180 days of hire
  • Due to the nature of this position, as part of the background check process, candidates must be able to pass a fingerprint background check to qualify as a fingerprinted person under FINRA. For roles requiring registration, additional regulatory screenings may apply, including a review of Form U5 disclosures and other relevant licensing information.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Existing relationships or experience working with major insurance carriers
  • Deep annuities experience, working with all types of annuities including MYGAs, FIAs, RILAs and VAs
  • Experience working closely with technologists and business executives to define strategic roadmaps
  • Experience working with RIAs
  • Experience in operations within the insurance (general agency, IMOs, OIDs, etc) or InsurTech industry
  • Experience working in a startup environment
  • Experience working in financially regulated companies (FINRA, SEC, NYDFS)

At Flourish, we focus on ensuring fair, equitable pay by providing competitive salaries, along with bonus and incentive opportunities and benefits for all employees.

OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
