Location: Poland - fully remote

Type:   This can be structured as a B2B Contract at $75k - 85k USD annually + stock options or as an Employment Contract with full benefits at $63,750k - 72,250k USD + stock options

What we are looking for

We are looking for an experienced QA Lead to oversee our software QA operations and to ensure that we deliver a polished enterprise-grade product to our customers. The QA Lead will work closely with our frontend and backend engineers as well as our QA analysts to produce well tested and documented code on all levels of the software organization at Focal. This role will be ~50% management and ~50% hands-on role. We are looking for individuals who are adaptable, proactive, and capable of balancing high-speed delivery with maintaining product quality, often with limited resources.

What you will do: 

  • Lead our international QA team
  • Build tools to track key QA metrics and monitor & report on them
  • Work closely with the engineering and product team to identify system/feature requirements
  • Assist in planning and coordinating all QA activities, help oversee our team
  • Create comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases for frontend and backend code
  • Perform thorough regression testing, execute manual and automated testing of existing and new code with tools such as: Playwright, Cucumber
  • Design, develop, deploy and execute automated test scripts and report on the output of these tests
  • Identify and document bugs thoroughly, create tasks for the engineering team and help drive issues to a resolution

What you need to be successful

  • 6+ years professional experience including 3+ years in a QA Lead role
  • 3+ years of experience with JavaScript & Cypress (Python nice to have)
  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Experience in writing and executing data consistency/accuracy tests a plus
  • Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes
  • Experience with automated testing tools
  • Comfortable presenting to the management team
  • Fluent in Polish; advanced in English (written & spoken)
  • Startup mentality, team player and willing to work 40+ hours a week

A candidate's level is determined by their performance throughout our talent acquisition process including technical screens, behavior interviews, presentations, work samples, and references.
