
Acquisitions Associate

As the firm continues to expand its fund platform and investment capabilities, we are seeking an Acquisitions Associate to join our Acquisitions team in Charlotte, NC.
This position provides significant exposure to the full life cycle of real estate investments, including underwriting, structuring, due diligence, financing, closing, and transition to Investment and Asset Management. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated real estate professional to develop within a growing, collaborative, and entrepreneurial investment organization.
This position requires you to be in office 4 days a week (1 day remote)
Primary Responsibilities:
The Acquisitions Associate will support the Acquisitions team in evaluating and executing new investment opportunities across Origin's growing portfolio of real estate funds and strategies. The individual will work closely with investment professionals, data scientists, and other internal teams throughout the investment process.
Some of the responsibilities of the individual in this role will include:
- Underwriting prospective real estate acquisitions using Microsoft Excel and ARGUS Enterprise
- Building and maintaining detailed financial models to evaluate investment opportunities, returns, risk, and sensitivity scenarios
- Preparing investment presentations, written investment committee memoranda, and supporting materials for prospective acquisitions
- Conducting research and analysis of micro- and macroeconomic market data to evaluate investment opportunities and market trends
- Collaborating with the Investment Management team to continuously refine underwriting assumptions, methodologies, and processes
- Participating in property inspections, market tours, and meetings with local market participants
- Supporting the evaluation of investment structures, financing alternatives, and transaction terms
- Performing financial, operational, market, and other due diligence required to prepare acquisitions for closing
- Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders throughout the acquisition and closing process
- Supporting the transition of completed investments to the Investment and Asset Management teams
- Communicating details and updates regarding past and active acquisitions to the Investor Relations team
- Working with the Data Science team to support the development and implementation of machine learning and AI-driven analytical processes
- Contributing to process improvements and other strategic initiatives as the firm continues to scale
- Managing multiple investment opportunities and deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Supporting additional acquisitions, investment, and analytical initiatives as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Finance, Real Estate, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field
- 1+ years of full-time real estate experience, preferably within private equity, real estate credit, investment banking, brokerage, valuation & advisory, or a related field
- Strong understanding of real estate investment fundamentals and financial analysis
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and financial modeling
- Experience with ARGUS Enterprise strongly preferred
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to clearly communicate complex investment concepts
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Highly motivated, independent, and self-directed with a strong sense of ownership
- Intellectually curious with a willingness to learn, challenge assumptions, and continuously improve
- Collaborative team player who embodies a "hungry and humble" approach to work
- Strong interest in leveraging technology, data science, machine learning, and AI to improve real estate investment decisions
- Ability to work collaboratively across investment, data science, investor relations, and asset management teams
- Desire to grow within a collaborative, entrepreneurial, and innovative real estate investment organization
The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between $90,000-$150,000 base salary compensation range. Actual base pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, subject matter expertise, geographic location where work will be performed, and the applicant’s skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package. Other rewards may include an annual cash bonus and a comprehensive benefits package, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401(k).
