Associate Wealth Manager

Since joining Focus Financial Partners in 2016, XML Financial Group has been growing our client assets we service from $500M to nearly $4B today with offices in multiple states and over 50+ team members. We have been able to expand our team and the capabilities in how we service our clients and do financial planning and asset management. 

XML is looking to add an Associate Wealth Manager to work closely with senior advisors and the broader client service team to provide high-quality service to clients and support the day-to-day management of an established book of business. This individual will play an important role in servicing client relationships, coordinating with multiple custodians, and ensuring clients receive a seamless and high-touch experience.

This position requires employees to work 3 days per week in the Bethesda, MD office, with a preference for candidates located within approximately a 5-7 mile radius due to traffic and commute considerations.

Primary Responsibilities:

The Associate Wealth Manager will support an established book of business and work alongside senior advisors and Client Service Associates to deliver exceptional service to clients. The role is primarily focused on client servicing and relationship support, with significant opportunity for professional growth as the firm's senior advisors continue to develop the next generation of leadership.

Some of the responsibilities of the individual in this role will include:

  • Servicing an established book of wealth management clients and serving as a trusted point of contact for day-to-day client needs
  • Supporting senior Wealth Managers with ongoing client relationship management and investment-related activities
  • Responding to client inquiries and requests in a timely, professional, and proactive manner
  • Coordinating with Client Service Associates to ensure client requests and account needs are handled efficiently
  • Supporting account opening, maintenance, transfers, money movement, and other client service activities across multiple custodians
  • Preparing for and supporting client meetings, including gathering information, preparing materials, and coordinating follow-up
  • Assisting Wealth Managers with portfolio reviews, client reporting, and other investment-related activities
  • Monitoring client accounts and helping identify opportunities or issues requiring advisor attention
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date client information and documentation
  • Building strong relationships with clients while maintaining a high level of discretion and professionalism
  • Collaborating with internal teams to provide a seamless client experience
  • Managing multiple priorities and client requests while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Developing a deep understanding of clients' financial needs, goals, and overall wealth management strategies
  • Taking increasing ownership of client relationships and responsibilities as knowledge and experience grow
  • Supporting additional wealth management and client service initiatives as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting, or a related field
  • 2+ of experience in wealth management, financial services, or a related client service/advisory environment
  • Experience supporting financial advisors, Wealth Managers, or high-net-worth clients strongly preferred
  • Series 7 and Series 66 licenses required
  • Strong understanding of wealth management, investment products, and financial markets
  • Experience working with multiple custodians and complex client accounts preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build strong client relationships
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a broader team
  • Strong judgment, professionalism, and discretion when working with client information
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to learn and effectively utilize wealth management, CRM, portfolio management, and custodial technology platforms
  • Demonstrated interest in building a long-term career in wealth management and continuing professional development

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CFP® certification or progress toward the CFP® designation
  • Experience at a large wealth management or financial services organization, particularly in an advisor support or service advisor capacity
  • Experience supporting high-net-worth individuals and families
  • Experience working in a multi-custodian wealth management environment
  • Prior experience at firms such as Fidelity, Wells Fargo, or other established wealth management platforms
  • Strong desire to transition from a service-focused role into broader Wealth Manager responsibilities over time

 

This position is an exempt position. The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between $75,000-$90,000. Actual base pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, subject matter expertise, geographic location where work will be performed, and the applicant’s skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package. Other rewards may include an annual cash bonus and a comprehensive benefits package, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401(k). Please note that the job title is subject to change based on the selected candidate’s experience and education.
