Position Overview:
As Internal Communications Manager, you will play a crucial role in shaping and delivering strategic communication initiatives and fostering effective internal communication at Follet Software, LLC. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and execute communication plans and programs that align to our Company goals and which engage, inform and inspire employees across multiple mediums. The role requires a blend of exceptional verbal and written communication skills, strategic thinking and the ability to partner cross-functionally and across all levels of the organization. The ideal candidate will be capable of both serving as a strategic advisor to executive leadership while also driving day-to-day communications support.  


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Strategy Development:
•    Develop and execute communication strategies that deliver compelling content and drive alignment to organizational goals and priorities.
•    Serve as strategic advisor to executive leaders on communication best practices, trends and opportunities. 
•    Ensure consistency in key messages, voice and themes to reinforce organizational goals, culture and values.
•    Deliver communication plan and strategy for cascading company vision and values internally.
•    Support and drive internal messaging around various Marketing initiatives, including new product launches.
Channel Management:
•    Assess and optimize existing communication channels and tools to strengthen employees' understanding of company strategy and culture, fostering a sense of connection and purpose.
•    Build and manage a global editorial calendar and assist stakeholders in editorial planning to ensure all employee-facing communications are delivered to the right audience, at the right time, and through the right channel.
•    Monitor channel performance and engagement metrics to optimize effectiveness, benchmark our performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Content Creation:  
•    Drive the Company’s communications strategy by brainstorming and creating original content for use across all internal communication channels.
•    Create communications plans and targeted written communications as well as FAQ documents as needed that help our team members and external partners and customers understand our objectives and receive the information they need to be successful in their roles. 
•    Write, edit and deliver messaging around various topics, including company strategies, priorities, and announcements, including as to sensitive and confidential matters and ensuring discretion and professionalism in supporting the same.
•    Review external communications, including customer communications, marketing campaigns, and press releases, among others, to ensure the same align to Company vision and values.
•    Design impactful presentations for Company-wide town halls and leadership meetings, showcasing our achievements and plans in a visually creative and compelling manner.
•    Working closely with the Marketing Brand and Communications team, maintain and create intranet and social media posts, including company announcements, blogs, news articles and documents related to Follett’s business channels.  
•    Generate and deliver meeting-related content to target audiences and support presenters to ensure presentation quality, effectiveness and alignment with Follett School Solutions’ voice and strategies.
•    Draft communications and message tracks on behalf of the CEO and executive team.
Events:  
•    Support planning and execution of in-person and virtual meetings and events by building communication plans, executing plan deliverables and ensuring effective key messaging.
Employee Engagement: 
•    Drive employee engagement through compelling written and verbal communication that exemplifies the Company’s values and principles and drives awareness to, and excitement for, Company engagement opportunities and programming. 
•    Support programs to improve the flow of information vertically from Follett leaders and managers to associates and across all departments and business units.
Cross-functional Support:
•    Coordinate and integrate communication plans and programs cross-functionally to ensure consistent and uniform objectives and messaging. Determine appropriate delivery channels for internal communication.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 7+ years of related experience in progressively senior internal communications’ roles with prior experience in a fully remote organization.
  • Exceptional writing, visual communications, and editing skills, with the ability to articulate details in clear, concise communications.
  • Experience engaging internal audiences through a variety of media and mediums.
  • Demonstrated ability to build consensus across teams through various company initiatives and cross-functional projects amongst multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience planning, prioritizing, and executing projects simultaneously.
  • Experience working closely with executive leadership and influencing decision-making processes
  • Proficiency in utilizing various communication tools and platforms (e.g. Teams, social media, intranet systems, etc.)
  • Creative thinking and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.
