Forbes Vetted is seeking an experienced Fashion Editor to join our growing commerce editorial team. This role will be responsible for shepherding the strategy, content planning and execution of the fashion section, which involves writing, assigning, editing and tracking performance across a number of content types: product guides, roundups, tested product reviews, news posts, how-tos and product odes. The ideal candidate is a subject matter expert with direct prior experience writing and editing fashion content for both men and women. You will work closely with the commerce strategy team to optimize evergreen content and collaborate with the deals and special projects teams on larger initiatives. This role reports to the Forbes Vetted Deputy Editor overseeing lifestyle categories.

Responsibilities: 

  • Spearhead all fashion coverage which includes clothing, footwear, jewelry, accessories and other apparel
  • Plan the editorial calendar for your section in collaboration with the deputy editor, strategy editor and editorial leadership
  • Assign, write and edit fashion content based on SEO data, trends, seasonality and audience data
  • Plan and create social content on fashion topics in collaboration with the Forbes Vetted audience development team
  • Leverage SEO tools like Google Keywords and SEMrush, plus analytics tools like Looker, to help plan content and track performance against team and individual goals
  • Participate in sales event coverage, including shifts over holiday weekends that may include Memorial Day, Labor Day, Amazon Prime Day and Black Friday/Cyber Monday

The ideal candidate:

  • Is an expert in the fashion space, with 4+ years of experience writing and editing fashion content for a commerce editorial publication or similar
  • Has impeccable writing, editing and reporting skills as well as a network of skilled writers and PR contacts
  • Has a strong understanding of SEO best practices, plus prior experience with commerce writing and affiliate strategy
  • Has experience with hands-on product testing in the fashion space
  • Is user-focused and understands editorial independence, but can deftly balance this with the needs of the business 
  • Is a team player who can multitask and work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders
  • Is eager to innovate and experiment editorially to help grow the Forbes Vetted audience

The annual base salary range for this role is $88,000 - $90,000

Forbes has estimated the compensation range set forth above in good faith.  The compensation range is what we believe we will offer, and ultimately pay, a successful candidate.  In determining this range, we consider the experience, level of education (if applicable to the role), knowledge, skills, and abilities required to be had by a successful candidate as well as the budget and the company’s pay rates, generally.
