Senior Software Engineer, Payments
About the role:
Our new Payments Initiative takes Forter’s battle-tested and market-leading Fraud detection capabilities and combines them with deep business insights and cutting edge technology to bring a complete line of products to our enterprise customer base.
We are looking for a veteran developer who's passionate about their work and business-centric problem-solving to take on a central role in building out this new line of business at Forter.

- It is still early days for our team, which means you’ll be an influential founding member of what is planned to be a multi-team group.
- You will build the next generation of Forter’s offering, leveraging its current technological advantages into a completely new and different field.

- We are a fast-paced team that iterates quickly and often implements new technologies and offerings but also a team that holds systems where availability is critical which requires a high level of code quality and craftsmanship.

What you'll be doing:
- Build our payments optimization offering, diving deep into the “behind the scenes” of the world's payments infrastructure.
- Bring your own unique experience - we are open to new concepts and ideas. You will help us redesign processes and architectural concepts and help bring the team and the systems to a new level.
- Develop a set of new, unique products as part of Payments initiative while working closely with teammates and multiple other stakeholders at Forter
- Work with a variety of programming languages and platforms
- Mentor and guide software engineers and help build a professional and effective team.
Who are you?:
- At least 5 years of diverse experience writing and maintaining complex software systems
- At least 1 year of Javascript development experience, preferably from the last year. Got Typescript experience? Even better.
- At least 5 years of back-end development experience.
- Familiarity with browser, networking and security concepts.
- Experience working in high-scale, highly available systems.
- Tech-Savvy Learner: Open to learning and working with new technologies (RUST, Go, etc…).
- Responsible and Independent: Self-reliant, taking full ownership of your work, including areas typically covered by QA and DevOps.

- Enthusiasm for providing technical solutions that bring immediate impact
- Strong communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills
