Engineering Manager, Research Engineering

About the role: 

Forter is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Research Engineering team.
At Forter analysts are core to our business, and are half of total R&D.

You will design and build the self-service analytics, this is the daily driver for Forter analysts and serves as a force multiplier to employees across the company.

Analytics are central to how Forter operates, across the entire organization.
They power our decisions which are our business, and enable us to move fast and release features at a rapid pace, and provide the backdrop for much of the innovation currently occurring in the company.

What you will be doing:

  • Build and lead a team of 4 experienced Backend Engineers 
  • Initiate and own complex development projects, work with stakeholders to define features, and scope, and guide decisions and tradeoffs
  • Collaborate with staff & principal engineers and analysts from across the organization.
  • Managing relationship with our various vendors (DBX, SF and more)

Who are you?

  • Managed 3+ engineers for 3+ years with 5+ years of experience working with large scale research systems (Snowflake/DBX)
  • Passion and experience overseeing a product’s lifecycle - from vision through requirements gathering to CI/CD cycles
  • Have a mentorship mindset and the passion to guide engineers towards achieving their career growth goals
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills - can talk and explain at the right level of abstraction to different audiences, and can build cross-org relationships at multiple levels
  • Have a continuous improvement mindset and can-do approach
