As a 3D Artist at Four Hands, you'll play a critical role in creating high-quality visual assets for the 3D production pipeline. You'll work closely with the production team to ensure successful execution of project goals which consists of rendering visual assets that meet the Four Hands creative vision. In This Role

  • Create photo-real imagery by setting up lighting and fine-tuning camera settings in 3DS Max and V-ray
  • Manage renders on the Chaos Cloud Render Farm; troubleshooting any issues that arise
  • Use Davinci Resolve to create “Back to Beauty” composites using ACES color management 
  • Address and incorporate feedback given by leadership effectively
  • Organize and manage digital assets used in projects to ensure easy accessibility and ensure adherence to established standards
  • Clean up files and remove unnecessary assets to maintain efficiency
  • Implement and maintain internal naming conventions across all 3D models to verify consistency and ease of hand-off between team members
  • Create basic hard surface 3D models based on provided concepts, references, or technical specifications using 3DS Max 
  • Design and apply shaders from scanned textures to 3D models; enhancing realism by creating new shaders, modifying pre-existing shaders, or tiling textures
  • Troubleshoot 3D files and assets, effectively communicating issues and resolutions when challenges arise
  • Other duties as assigned, in accordance with training and qualifications

The Ideal Person

  • 5+ years experience in 3D art creation
  • Bachelor’s degree in Media Arts or Animation, or other related field
  • Advanced knowledge in 3D software such as 3DS Max, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new tools and techniques
  • Advanced knowledge in Photoshop for texture creation
  • Knowledge with V-Ray rendering technology and its application in creating lifelike visualizations
  • Understanding of texture creation, including UV mapping, texture painting, and applying materials to 3D models to achieve realistic surfaces
  • Mastery of lighting principles and techniques to create visually appealing scenes, including knowledge of different types of lights and their effects
  • Ability to create a clean geometry through clean polyflow, quad polygons, and a non-destructive workflow
  • Demonstrated adaptability to evolving project requirements and a proactive approach to learning and skill development
