The QA Automation Engineer/SDET will play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products by designing, developing, and executing scalable automated test suites. Leveraging hands-on experience with Playwright, cross-browser testing tools such as BrowserStack, and modern CI/CD practices, you will help strengthen automation coverage and improve testing efficiency. This role will contribute to advancing our automation frameworks and driving quality across the entire software development lifecycle. 

In This Role 

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites using Playwright, ensuring strong coverage for functional, regression, and end-to-end scenarios 
  • Execute cross-browser and cross-device testing using tools like BrowserStack or similar platforms 
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps) to support continuous testing and faster releases 
  • Collaborate with QA and development teams to convert manual test cases into reliable automated scripts 
  • Develop and run API and integration tests to validate system interactions and data flows. 
  • Investigate and resolve automation test failures, improving framework reliability and stability 
  • Work with DevOps to maintain test environments aligned with production 
  • Contribute to code reviews and continuous improvement of automation practices

The Ideal Person  

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience designing, developing, and maintaining test automation frameworks and supporting infrastructure as an Automation Engineer or SDET 
  • 4+ years of experience in modern UI test automation using Playwright (JavaScript/TypeScript preferred) or similar frameworks 
  • 3+ years of experience in API, contract, and performance/load testing using tools such as Postman, REST Assured, k6, JMeter, or similar 
  • Hands-on experience executing cross-browser and cross-device testing using cloud platforms such as BrowserStack or similar tools 
  • Proven ability to design and build scalable, maintainable automation frameworks from the ground up, focusing on reliability and reusability 
  • Experience integrating automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar 
  • Proficient in Git for version control and collaborative development workflows 
  • Experience working with Jira or similar issue tracking systems for defect management and traceability 
  • Strong experience testing complex distributed systems and multi-component data pipelines, ensuring end-to-end validation 
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate testing tools, conduct proof-of-concepts (POCs), and recommend automation solutions that improve quality and efficiency 
  • Self-motivated with strong problem-solving and debugging skills in complex environments 
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with developers, product managers, and DevOps teams
