We’re looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Material Handler to support our Woodshop team. You’ll help keep production running smoothly by managing wood inventory, receiving materials, and ensuring the right materials are available when needed.

In This Role

  • Maintain accurate on-hand inventory quantities for all wood types and profiles
  • Conduct weekly physical inventory counts and accurately record results
  • Compare physical counts against system inventory, identify discrepancies, and partner with Production and Operations to determine root causes
  • Complete receiving documentation for incoming wood and verify quantities against purchase orders and shipping documents
  • Inspect incoming materials and document damaged, defective, or unusable material
  • Safely move and stage materials using a forklift and other material-handling equipment
  • Replenish Woodshop inventory daily to ensure materials are available and production is not delayed
  • Monitor inventory levels against reorder points and communicate potential shortages to the Woodshop Manager and Procurement
  • Track incoming orders and communicate delivery timing that may impact production
  • Maintain organized storage areas, clearly label materials, and rotate inventory to ensure older material is used first
  • Other duties as assigned, in accordance with training and qualifications

The Ideal Person

  • 1+ year of experience in a warehouse, inventory, production, or material-handling environment preferred
  • Forklift experience preferred; certification or willingness to become certified required
  • Basic understanding of inventory counting, receiving, and material-handling practices
  • Basic proficiency with Excel and other systems used to record and verify inventory data
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate inventory records
  • Reliable communicator who works effectively with Production, Procurement, and Operations teams
  • Ability to safely lift, move, and stage materials using appropriate equipment
