About The Role

The Staff Accountant will execute and support all accounting-related activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accounting processes.

Job Responsibilities

  • Execute assigned areas from the month-end financial close process, including recording journal entries.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations within the established deadlines. Ensure reconciling items are researched, supported, and decision in accordance with company policy.
  • Manage the fixed assets accounting process, including recording fixed asset additions, disposals, and change requests. This may include processing all fixed asset transactions in a sub-ledger, including additions, capital interest, acquisitions, transfers, retirements, impairments, reclassifications, and per GAAP and company policies.
  • Manage Lease accounting, including adding new leases, amendments, lease clarification, reviewing monthly rent amounts and generation of lease entries and schedules.
  • Ensure that the accounting records, reports and supporting documentation are in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and government regulations.
  • Preparation and performance of ad hoc or ongoing projects and schedules as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA and MBA is a plus.
  • Minimum 1 - 3 years of progressive accounting and finance experience in an organization of similar scale and complexity.
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting, financial reporting, financial statement analysis, and internal controls.
  • High level of interpersonal, written, verbal communication skills.
  • Strong ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks. Highly detail oriented.
  • Ability to work cross functionally to achieve desired results.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professional skepticism.
  • Ideal candidate will have a desire, willingness, and ability to grow beyond the advertised role, and at the appropriate time move to another role within finance or the broader organization.
  • Must have a moderate to high level of competency in Microsoft Excel, and experience creating and delivering power point presentations.
  • Knowledge of GP is a plus.
