Analytical Development Co-Op

We are looking for a highly motivated Co-Op to join our Analytical Development team within Technical Development Organization. This is a hands-on laboratory role designed for a student who is excited about benchwork and interested in gaining real-world experience in biotech analytical development. In this role, you will work closely with experienced scientists to analyze and characterize various modalities (such as peptides, small molecules, biologics and/or nucleic acids). You will gain meaningful experience using industry-standard analytical tools and techniques while contributing directly to active development programs. 

What You’ll Do

• Learn how to use laboratory separation techniques such as HPLC/UPLC (including reverse phase, size exclusion, and ion exchange), fragment analyzer, and capillary electrophoresis to test product quality.
• Use chemical, biochemical and biophysical assays to analyze different types of molecules.
• Assist with developing and improving lab methods and analytical workflows.
• Run tests to measure concentration, purity, stability, and other important product characteristics.
• Prepare samples, buffers, and mobile phases needed for experiments.
• Keep detailed and organized records of experiments and results.
• Share findings with the team and participate in scientific discussions.

What We’re Looking For

• Currently studying chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, or a related field
• Strong interest in analytical development and biotech drug development
• Highly organized and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Excited to work at the bench and learn new techniques
• Team-oriented and collaborative with demonstrated communication skills
• Ability to work in a matrixed and fast-paced team environment

This co-op offers significant hands-on experience with Analytical development area of drug development programs. 

The salary range for this role is $25 - $35. Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience.
