Title: Associate Pilot Plant Technician
Location: Solon, OH
Company: Fortune 100 Food & Beverage Manufacturing (FuseGlobal has worked with this company for 20 years)
Initial term: 6 months (position expected to run longer)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (initial); transitioning to 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM split shift

POSITION SUMMARY: 
The Associate Pilot Plant Technician will play a key supporting role in product development and innovation trials within both benchtop and pilot plant environments. This hands-on position involves working with food processing equipment, maintaining sanitary conditions, and ensuring safe and effective execution of pilot-scale experiments. The ideal candidate is a proactive, reliable team player who is comfortable working independently and committed to maintaining high operational standards.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

•    Safely handle and work with industrial-grade chemicals in compliance with safety protocols
•    Assemble and disassemble food processing equipment with technical precision
•    Perform industrial-scale cleaning tasks to maintain equipment and facility hygiene
•    Operate basic processing equipment, adhering to defined procedures and scope of work
•    Support cross-functional teams with general tasks and collaborative assistance
•    Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining a high level of productivity
•    Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental objectives

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

•    Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in food science, culinary arts, baking & pastry, or a related technical field preferred, or equivalent industry experience
•    Prior experience in food manufacturing or culinary environments highly preferred
•    Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
•    Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
•    Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. as part of routine material handling
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills (email, phone, in-person)
•    Self-motivated and resourceful, with a demonstrated ability to follow through independently
•    Brings creativity, urgency, and passion to hands-on project work

 

The technician will have formal meetings with their supervisor to assess progress and alignment with team objectives. In addition to these formal check-ins, there will be frequent opportunities to collaborate with and receive guidance from team members across departments.
