POSITION OVERVIEW
Global Atlantic Financial Company (a subsidiary of Global Atlantic Financial Group Limited) is seeking a candidate for the position of Senior Vice President, Head of Insurance Risk Management in New York, NY. Responsibilities include:
- Act as Manager of Global Atlantic’s (GA) Insurance Risk Management team including 23 insurance professionals and quantitative analysts.
- Manage the quantitative risk function, including comprehensive redesign and rebuild of the company's proprietary Asset Liability Management system, the company's experience studies system and the company's derivative valuation platform.
- Responsible for insurance modeling, hedging, experience studies and M&A.
- Code statistical and financial models in RNA Analytics's R3S and the Beacon platform.
- Responsible for the performance of the Insurance Risk Management function.
- Influence ranges from pricing, risk management, to hedging.
- Serve as a member of GA’s Risk Committee, giving numerous presentations to GA’s Management Committee and Board of Directors.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or a related field plus five (5) years of experience in a related role.
- Prior experience must include five (5) years in each of the following:
- Utilizing knowledge of insurance products and capital markets to calculate hedge ratios and to monitor market risk.
- Applying understanding of insurance products, including Indexed Universal Life, Fixed and Indexed annuities and income riders, to set liability assumptions.
- Utilizing actuarial, statistical and programming knowledge to support pricing and risk management of new business.
- Utilizing knowledge of insurance products, industry trends, and financial markets to help manage the company’s liabilities, including liquidity reports and Asset and Liability Management (ALM).
- Model development and review of liability models in R3S Modeller, Python software, Beacon software, and Microsoft software.
- Managing people, building teams, and project management.
- Liability modelling to validate new business models.
- Applying knowledge of GAAP accounting to life and annuities for assumption reviews and hedging.
