POSITION OVERVIEW
Global Atlantic Financial Company (a subsidiary of Global Atlantic Financial Group Limited) is seeking a candidate for the position of Vice President, Corporate Strategy in New York, New York. Responsibilities include:
- Vice President, Corporate Strategy, responsible for evaluating and executing on the company’s broader strategy and key growth initiatives, including exploring key strategic markets, joint venture partnerships and M&A opportunities.
- Work closely with the Finance, Investment, Risk and Individual Markets teams and collaborate closely with KKR on strategic initiatives as well.
- Develop a deep understanding of Global Atlantic’s financial and operational profile to identify opportunities for development across all aspects of the company.
- Work closely with GAFG and KKR leaders to assess and execute on important strategic initiatives that often require collaboration across teams and a tolerance for complexity.
- Evaluate M&A opportunities across Life & Annuity companies across the US, Europe, and Asia.
- Monitor competitive intelligence across both private and publicly traded life and annuity peer companies.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field, plus five (5) years of experience in investment banking, structured finance, investing, insurance / reinsurance, asset management or another similar transactional role.
Minimum Special Requirements:
Five (5) years of experience in the following:
- Working with annuity and life insurance product designs, including fixed annuities, fixed indexed annuities, and variable annuities to understand and evaluate liability behavior and performance
- Building models of life and annuity liabilities under both US Statutory and GAAP frameworks for reserving and projection purposes.
- Performing long-term projections of balance sheet and income statements for insurance companies, including pro forma analysis for M&A.
- Analyzing capital requirements and solvency of insurance companies under the statutory Risk-Based Capital and rating agency frameworks.
- Working with Capital IQ to extract data on liabilities and assets across US life and annuity insurance companies and perform analysis.
- Using PowerPoint, Word, and Excel to prepare detailed presentations summarizing technical insurance concepts for senior management.
Four (4) years of experience in the following:
- Using Bloomberg to gather equity and credit data and trading information on publicly traded insurance companies to evaluate value.
