Role Summary
Galileo Financial Technologies is seeking a Data Analyst to join our growing Data & Analytics team. In this role, you'll partner closely with Product, Risk and Fraud teams to drive insights that shape data product development, mitigate financial risk, and enhance fraud detection strategies. You’ll support a wide range of analytical initiatives—from powering client-facing dashboards and product metrics to deep-diving into risk signals and anomaly detection.
This is a high-impact, cross-functional role ideal for an analytically-minded individual who’s excited by the intersection of fintech data, product development, and operational risk.
What You’ll Do
- Work closely with the Data and Risk Teams to support roadmap decisions with data-backed insights and exploratory analysis.
- Partner with the Risk and Fraud teams to analyze transactional patterns, identify emerging threats, and evaluate controls.
- Develop and maintain reporting dashboards, data visualizations, and performance metrics for internal stakeholders and clients.
- Write and optimize queries to extract and transform data from complex financial datasets (e.g., card transactions, auth logs, fraud signals).
- Help design and validate data models and sources of truth for product usage, customer health, and operational performance.
- Investigate trends, anomalies, or escalations in product usage, fraud activity, or partner performance.
- Document analytical workflows and contribute to a culture of analytical rigor, data quality, and reproducibility.
Minimum Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in a data analyst or similar role, ideally in fintech, risk/fraud analytics, or B2B SaaS environments.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience analyzing large, complex datasets.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience building dashboards or reports using BI tools such as Looker, Tableau, or Mode.
- Analytical thinker with a detail-oriented mindset and a passion for finding patterns in data.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science).
- Experience working with product teams or supporting product development cycles with data.
Exposure to fraud modeling, risk scoring, or anomaly detection techniques. - Familiarity with Python, dbt, or other data modeling and analytics engineering tools.
- Knowledge of financial services, transaction monitoring, chargeback workflows, or payment network dynamics.
US-Based Base Compensation
$124,800 - $234,000 USD
