The Role

Business Operations helps the business grow faster and operate more efficiently. We’re seeking a Sr. Director of Business Operations to support Galileo by partnering with leadership on developing the strategy, identifying criteria for success and establishing the execution roadmap in delivering the next phase of SoFi and Galileo’s growth. You will be a critical trusted partner for the CEO and leadership team. This is your opportunity to showcase a breadth of strengths: strategy, analysis, financial modeling, problem-solving, performance management, cross-functional project management, and more.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage a comprehensive strategy execution capability which enables Galileo to identify strategic priorities, articulate them clearly and execute on them quickly and effectively
  • Own and drive the annual strategic planning process and work with leaders across the company to operationalize at a quarterly planning cadence
  • Manage key operational and business planning processes, including evolving operating rhythms, coordinating strategic meetings, documentation and deliverables; driving the right agendas and appropriate follow-up
  • Leverage data to tell the story to internal executive audiences, the BOD and additional external audiences
  • Identify external factors that may impact strategic goals, focusing on long-term trends, outlook, and competitive intelligence
  • Enable leaders to make faster and better decisions by arming them with clear and concise messaging and data along the planning process and ensuring timelines avoid fire drills
  • Establish a program management practice and directly own the organization, alignment, and drive of strategic priorities including outcomes delivery
  • Act as an internal strategic consultant, broadening the thinking, challenging assumptions, and pushing teams to connect dots in order to build and ship faster
  • Facilitate the OKR program, as well as the tracking and resolution of executive issues, action items and KPIs
  • Support the CEO with ad-hoc projects as needed – operate as proxy and provide direct project management over executive planning, execution, and communications
  • Drive highly visible strategic projects, working cross-functionally to structure problems, analyze opportunities, and develop solutions and actionable recommendations and results through a rigorous, data-driven process
  • Support and operationalize the governance structure
  • Foster relationships across Galileo and SoFi and serve as a steward of our company values

What you’ll need:

  • 10+ years of experience leading cross-functional teams that combines strategic thinking with tactical execution,
  • Passion to learn, grow our business, and support our mission of helping members get their money right
  • Ability to break down challenges/opportunities, build a strategy, write an action plan, identify resources, and project-manage to completion
  • Use data to drive strategy, execution, and optimization
  • High EQ to build relationships across all levels, departments, and personality types to lead without direct reporting lines
  • Track record of performance in a high growth, dynamic environment
  • Bias toward action, strong analytical skills, and solid business judgement
  • Eagerness to roll up your sleeves to get things done (even the unglamorous things)
  • Expert communication and presentation skills and the confidence to articulate, present and debate your recommendations with anyone
  • Ability to balance and prioritize multiple work streams for different stakeholders

Nice to have:

  • Experience in management consulting, investment banking and/or business operations
  • Experience in Fintech
  • MBA
