Senior Security Engineer — Platform Security

As a senior security engineer for platform security at Gallup, you'll protect the cloud and infrastructure that power our global business while helping Gallup stay ahead of an ever-changing threat landscape. In this role, you'll strengthen security by design, lead incident response and partner across engineering teams to build resilient platforms that enable innovation. You'll have the autonomy to shape how Gallup builds, strengthens and continuously improves platform security.
What You’ll Do
- Advise infrastructure and engineering teams on secure design for cloud platforms, enterprise infrastructure and endpoint environments
- Design, implement and continuously improve security controls across Gallup's cloud and infrastructure environments
- Conduct cloud security posture management (CSPM) reviews and infrastructure vulnerability assessments across network, system and cloud environments
- Administer, optimize and tune Splunk SIEM and endpoint detection and response (EDR) platforms to improve visibility, detection and response capabilities
- Embed security controls, metrics and best practices early in infrastructure initiatives through a shift-left approach
- Lead and coordinate platform security incident response, providing calm, decisive technical leadership during high-impact events
- Develop scripts and automation that improve security operations, monitoring and operational efficiency
- Continuously assess emerging threats and evolving attack techniques, including those enabled by AI, and recommend practical improvements that strengthen Gallup's security posture

What You Need
- Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, information assurance, computer science or a related field required
- At least five years of full-time professional experience securing enterprise cloud and infrastructure environments required
- Deep experience securing one or more cloud platforms including Azure, AWS, Microsoft 365 or Oracle Cloud required
- Hands-on experience administering and tuning Splunk SIEM and EDR platforms required
- Experience performing CSPM reviews and infrastructure vulnerability assessments required
- Experience leading or playing a significant role in security incident response required
- Strong scripting experience using Python, PowerShell, Bash or a comparable language required
- OSCP, Microsoft Azure Security Engineer, AWS Certified Security – Specialty or similar security certifications preferred
- Experience using AI tools to improve security operations or familiarity with emerging AI-enabled threats preferred
- A commitment to working on-site at Gallup's Omaha office at least three days per week required

We also offer an estimated annual salary range of $115,000-$150,000 for this role. Salaries are based on a variety of factors, including an individual’s education, experience and skills.
