Strategic Finance Manager

The Role:

As a key player on the Strategic Finance team at Gametime, the Strategic Finance Manager will support the team in building FP&A maturity and act as the “CFO” to the functional business teams. This role is responsible for building and maintaining financial models that are aligned with business drivers with a deep understanding of the user funnel. The ideal candidate will also be analyzing data, making recommendations, and forecasting accurately to deliver results and drive improvements that positively impact growth. This position will also resolve finance issues, improve, scale, or simplify finance tools, technology, and processes across teams and organizations. Strong FP&A skills leveraging data and business partnering experience will be essential to drive success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Product and Marketing departments.
  • Act as the primary point person supporting management in Product and Marketing departments in all budgeting and forecasting related areas.
  • Independently align financial and operational analysis with business partners, supporting investment and prioritization decisions.
  • Build and manage models of Gametime leveraging strong business understanding.
  • Partner with the product side of the organization in understanding consumer funnel behavior across platforms and categories to appropriately capture it in business models and find opportunities for growth.
  • Support end-to-end financial management of the marketing budget, including Brand and Paid marketing spend, supporting efficient resource allocation.
  • Support department specific analysis to help support GTM strategy, including LTV / CAC, payback benchmarks, etc.
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis and modeling as needed.
  • Present recommendations to senior management on strategic decisions and planned future initiatives.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to resolve financial issues, scale, or simplify finance tools, technology and processes across teams and organizations.
  • Coordinate with the accounting team to ensure business records and forecasting / analysis frameworks are consistent.
  • Other duties as required.

 

Key Competencies:

Technical Skills:

  • Financial Modeling: Superior financial analysis and financial modeling skills. Proven experience in developing revenue models in direct-to-consumer technology industry and a deep understanding of user funnel behavior analysis.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Proven expertise managing, evaluating, analyzing data quickly and creating meaningful business reporting. Fluency in Excel / Gsheet, BI/database tools (such as Periscope, Tableau or Sigma), NetSuite familiarity a plus.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Experience in annual budget / annual operating plan cycle management.

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Business Partnering: Proven experience in finance business partnering with the ability to work well in cross-functional settings. Experience supporting Product/Marketing teams is a plus.
  • Collaboration: Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and communicate with key stakeholders. Coordinate with the accounting team to ensure business records and forecasting / analysis frameworks are consistent.
  • Communication: Proven ability to communicate concisely with meaningful commentary.
  • Customer Focus: Strong customer focus - both Internal / External.

Problem-Solving and Decision-Making:

  • Strategic Thinking: Advanced problem solving and root cause analysis. Proactive in identifying challenges and implementing solutions.
  • Process Improvement: Proven ability to develop new ideas, process improvement and creative solutions. Identify and implement opportunities to resolve financial issues, scale, or simplify finance tools, technology and processes across teams and organizations.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Finance, Accounting, Business degree or related field.
  • Experience: 10+ years of experience. Proven experience in developing revenue models in direct-to-consumer technology industry and a deep understanding of user funnel behavior analysis. Experience in finance business partnering with the ability to work well in cross-functional settings. Experience in annual budget / annual operating plan cycle management.
  • Other Requirements: Detail-oriented, well-organized. Ability to work independently, readily adapt to and lead through an ambiguous environment.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience: Experience with the marketplace business model is a plus. Experience supporting Product/Marketing teams is a strong asset. Proven experience in partnering with data science to establish guardrails & interpretation of A/B test results to apply in FP&A.

 

Performance Metrics:

  • Accuracy of financial forecasts and models impacting growth.
  • Effectiveness in supporting investment and prioritization decisions for Product and Marketing departments.
  • Successful implementation of improvements to finance tools, technology, and processes.
  • Efficiency in managing the marketing budget and supporting resource allocation.

At Gametime pay ranges are subject to change and assigned to a job based on specific market median of similar jobs according to 3rd party salary benchmark surveys. Individual pay within that range can vary for several reasons including skills/capabilities, experience, and available budget.

United States - Pay Range

$127,840 - $150,400 USD
