Staff Product Manager, Payment Foundations

About the role:
We’re looking for a Staff Product Manager to lead our Payment Foundations team, a new team responsible for building a secure, reliable, and scalable platform for money movement across Garner. This role is the core platform enabling Garner’s financial incentive experience, which drives best-in-class health and financial outcomes for patients and employers. This role reports to the Director of Product Management.
Where you will work:
This role is open to remote candidates across the U.S. For candidates based in New York City, the position follows a hybrid schedule with in-office work required Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday each week.
What you will do:
- Be responsible for directly improving healthcare affordability and outcomes for patients and employers by delivering a compelling, seamless financial incentive
- Own our claims roadmap, including our patient-facing app experience, adjudication system, operational tools, and third-party integrations
- Own the product surface area and operational tools for three Ops teams (Integrations, Claims, Claims Concierge)
- Drive new feature development from start to finish: from ideation, requirements gathering, documentation, product development, launch and iteration
What you will bring to the team:
- Own Garner’s payments platform strategy and roadmap, including payment systems, financial ledger, payments data products, and payment operations tools
- Be the internal and external owner for Garner’s payment partner and vendor integrations, including 5+ partners and growing
- Drive development of APIs, integrations, and platform capabilities that enable teams across Garner to initiate, track, and reconcile money movement safely and reliably
- Establish company-wide standards for compliance, financial reporting, and incident response
- Partner with product, engineering, operations, legal, and finance to enable 0-1 payments products and use cases
- Example projects might include:
- Designing a financial ledger to record member account balances and transactions
- Developing automated integrations with Health Savings Account providers to make deposits on behalf of members
- Expanding reimbursement methods for members through Paypal and Venmo

The ideal candidate has
- 6+ years product management experience
- Exceptional systems thinking and detail orientation, with demonstrated experience building technical products and platforms at scale
- A strong technical background, with experience designing APIs, integrations, and data systems
- Superb communication and stakeholder management skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly articulate vision and drive execution across internal and external stakeholders
- Domain expertise building financial or other highly-regulated products, and/or large-scale financial systems
- Authorized to work lawfully in the United States of America as Garner does not engage in immigration sponsorship at this time
Compensation Transparency:
The target salary range for this position is $237,000 - $245,000. Individual compensation for this role will depend on various factors, including qualifications, skills, and applicable laws. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible to participate in our equity incentive and competitive benefits plans, including but not limited to: flexible PTO, Medical/Dental/Vision plan options, 401(k), Teladoc Health and more.
