What you'll do:
As a Competitive Intelligence & Market Research Manager your key area of responsibility will be to conduct detailed research and analysis on competitor offerings, market trends, and customer insights to provide actionable intelligence to internal stakeholders. By synthesizing complex technical and market data into clear, concise insights, the role helps inform product development, marketing, and sales strategies across the business.
How you'll make an impact:

Develop and execute a comprehensive competitive intelligence program, continuously monitoring key competitors' strategies, products, pricing, and market positioning.

Conduct detailed feature-by-feature comparisons and technical assessments of competitor offerings against Geotab's solutions.

Analyze quantitative and qualitative data from various sources (market reports, analyst reports, customer feedback, sales data, industry news, win/loss analysis, product teardowns) to uncover key insights.

Translate complex findings into clear, concise, and actionable recommendations for senior leadership and key stakeholders across the company , particularly product management and engineering.

Collaborate closely with product marketing, product management, marketing, sales, and strategy teams to provide data-driven recommendations that shape product roadmaps, sales strategies, marketing campaigns, and overall business strategy.

Proactively monitor the competitive landscape to identify emerging threats and potential opportunities at both a broad market and specific product level.

Prepare and present regular reports and briefings on the competitive environment, product comparisons, and market trends to key stakeholders.

Stay abreast of industry developments, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes impacting the telematics and connected vehicle ecosystem.
What you'll bring to the role:

Proven experience in competitive intelligence, market research, or a related analytical role within the technology sector (experience in connected vehicles, fleet management, or telematics is a strong asset).

Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to synthesize technical and business information from diverse sources and identify key strategic implications.

Proficiency in research methodologies (both qualitative and quantitative) and data analysis tools. Experience with product benchmarking and feature comparison is highly desirable.

Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, including technical audiences.

Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and the ability to connect market insights and product-level details to business objectives.

Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Experience with competitive intelligence platforms and market research databases is a plus.

The annual base salary for this position is the expected annual salary for this role, and may be subject to change. Geotab offers various perks and benefits and other compensation components that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary for this position depends on a variety of factors such as but not limited to skills, qualifications, education and overall experience, including the location the applicant lives while performing the job. This also includes equity with other team members and alignment with local market data. All offers of employment are contingent upon proof of eligibility to work and the individual's ability to pass a background check.
Hiring Range
$101,600 - $132,000 CAD
