Opportunity

Get Well is seeking a technically strong and product-minded Staff Software Engineer to design, develop, and optimize our cloud-native healthcare applications with a focus on scalability, performance, and security. You will play a key role in building data-driven and AI-powered solutions that support clinical workflows and improve patient outcomes.

The ideal candidate is a strong individual contributor who can work across the stack, build scalable distributed systems, and contribute to architectural discussions. You’ll collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and domain experts to deliver features and services that are secure, reliable, and impactful in a regulated healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering Execution

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services, APIs, and cloud-native applications using modern stacks (Java, Python, Node.js).
  • Contribute to building data and AI platform features that support analytics and clinical workflows.
  • Develop secure, compliant, and high-performance software in a regulated healthcare environment.

Technical Influence

  • Participate in architecture discussions and design reviews.
  • Drive engineering best practices including code quality, testing, observability, and CI/CD.
  • Contribute to evolving engineering standards, documentation, and reusability patterns.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with product managers, designers, AI/ML teams, and clinical specialists to ensure technology solutions align with healthcare needs.
  • Partner with security, compliance, and DevOps teams to ensure HIPAA-compliant delivery.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
  • 8-12 years of professional software development experience.
  • Strong backend engineering experience with cloud-native architectures using AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Experience with microservices, API design, containerization (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes).
  • Proficient in at least two of the following: Java, Python, Node.js.
  • Experience with NoSQL databases, message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ), or event-driven systems.
  • Exposure to frontend frameworks like React or Vue is a plus.
  • Familiarity with healthcare standards (FHIR, HL7) and HIPAA-compliant systems is a plus.
