Research Operations Manager
About GetWhys
GetWhys is a VC-backed SaaS company building AI-powered customer research and messaging tools for product marketers. Our products help companies like Docker, Docusign, and Commvault understand their customers and craft better messaging. We're a small team that's growing quickly—our ARR grew over 10x in 2025—by shipping a strongly differentiated SaaS product.
The Role
We're looking for a Research Operations Manager to own the operational backbone of our research delivery. You'll be the central coordinator for many concurrent qualitative research projects, ensuring they’re completed in a quick turnaround. This is a pure operations role—you won't be conducting interviews or analyzing data. Your job is to make sure everything runs on time.
For each project, you'll work across expert networks and internal channels to source the right qualitative participants—whether that's 3 interviews or 20+. While our platform automates much of the interviewer handoff, you're the one making sure sourcing happens on time, interviewers are available and scheduled, and nothing stalls out.
What You'll Do
- Manage many concurrent research projects: Track status, timelines, and deliverables across all active research requests, ensuring each meets its deadline
- Own sourcing operations: Coordinate with expert networks and internal sources to get the right number of qualified participants for each request, using your judgement to determine what that number is based on the scope
- Coordinate contractor network: Manage scheduling and availability for our pool of contract interviewers—ensuring interviews are properly scheduled and interviewers are matched to projects
- Monitor progress and communicate: Flag potential delays early, working with the CPO and Customer Success Lead to set expectations with customers when timelines are at risk
- Keep projects on track: Follow up on in-progress requests to ensure timely completion and quality standards are met
What We're Looking For
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage high-volume, concurrent qualitative research projects
- Experience coordinating external contractors, vendors, or distributed teams
- Proactive communicator who knows when to escalate and keeps stakeholders informed without hand-holding
- Detail-oriented with strong follow-through—nothing falls through the cracks on your watch
- At least 2 years of experience in research operations
- Comfortable with the pace and ambiguity of a startup environment
Benefits
- Healthcare, Dental, and Vision insurance (90% of your deductible, 75% of your dependents’)
- 401(k) with 3% company match
- 12 weeks paid parental leave
- 18 company holidays, with unlimited PTO
- Our suggested minimum is at least 10 business days of PTO per year.
- Remote-friendly work environment, with
- Regional hubs in Portland (OR), NYC (NY), Boise (ID), and Bozeman (MT)
- Regular team- and company-wide in person gatherings.
- Ground-floor opportunity to build and lead a critical function at a growing startup
