About GetWhys
GetWhys is a VC-backed SaaS company building AI-powered customer research and messaging tools for product marketers. Our products help companies like Docker, Docusign, and Commvault understand their customers and craft better messaging. We're a small team that’s growing quickly—our ARR grew over 10x in 2025—by shipping a strongly differentiated SaaS product.
The Role
Location: Hybrid — NYC, Portland, Boise, or Bozeman
Compensation: $120k - $175k+ & equity
GetWhys is looking for a Fullstack Software Engineer to help design and build features for our core application. You’ll work across the stack to ship user-facing functionality, collaborate closely with product and design and help us scale both our product and engineering practices.
The role is ideal for someone who enjoys ownership, moving fast and building real products used by customers.
In this role
- Build high-quality, user facing product experiences end-to-end.
- You’ll build and maintain scalable web applications using modern JavaScript/TypeScript, React and backend services.
- Collaborate closely with product and design to understand problems and deliver thoughtful solutions.
- Contribute to architectural decisions as the product and team grows.
- Help integrate and evolve LLM-powered workflows, including retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) where appropriate.
- Write clean, maintainable code and improve developer experience over time.
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of experience as a full-stack software engineer working on user-facing products.
- Experience building and shipping production web applications.
- Comfortable operating in a startup environment with ambiguity and ownership.
- Familiarity with RAG concepts (embeddings, retrieval strategies, evaluation) is a plus.
- Experience building or prototyping LLM-powered workflows using foundation models such as OpenAi, Gemini, Anthropic or Deepseek.
- Startup experience, especially having helped build a product from scratch or early stages.
Benefits
- Healthcare, Dental, and Vision insurance (90% of your deductible, 75% of your dependents’)
- 401(k) with 3% company match
- Unlimited PTO
- 12 weeks paid parental leave
- 18 company holidays, with unlimited PTO
- Our suggested minimum is at least 10 business days of PTO per year.
- We’re a historically remote company; NYC, Boise, Bozeman, and Portland are our first hubs, where we’ll have a hybrid office environment.
- We’ll always be remote friendly (e.g., no “X days in office”).
- Regular team- and company-wide in person gatherings.
- Ground-floor opportunity to build and lead a critical function at a growing startup
