Senior Contract Manager, EMEA

The Senior Contract Manager is responsible for supporting the contracting process for sales, procurement and non-sales engagements, as well as contributing to internal standards and documentation to assist in the growth of the team. In addition, the Senior Contract Manager will collaborate with colleagues on (i) identifying and implementing process improvements, and (ii) participating in enablement and training activities for various internal GitLab Teams.
What You’ll do
- Engage on top priority and complex procurement agreements tied to significant vendor relationships.
- Create and present training materials for both procurement stakeholders and business teams.
- Assist in creating and maintaining Playbooks and other supporting documentation.
- Become a trusted advisor to the Procurement Team and business stakeholders.
- Draft and negotiate a wide range of non-sales/procurement contracts including services, consulting, software licenses, SaaS subscriptions, hardware, and other vendor-related agreements.
- Work closely with members of the Legal team to develop and improve applicable standardized forms, processes, and procedures.
- Perform risk analysis review for all vendor contractual documents and recommend mitigating options.
- Understand the Company's procurement needs and vendor landscape to identify risks, develop solutions, and create effective negotiation strategies.
What You’ll Bring
- 10+ years of contracts drafting, reviewing and negotiation experience within a procurement environment.
- BA/BS or the equivalent required. JD, paralegal certificate, or equivalent work experience preferred.
- Ability to create and contribute to procurement enablement presentations
- Expertise in drafting and negotiating a wide variety of vendor agreements, software licensing, and other procurement-related contracts, including those for large dollar amounts or complex matters.
- Understanding of vendor data privacy requirements and compliance considerations.
- Proactive, dynamic and result driven individual with strong attention to detail.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills, with ability to interface effectively with procurement teams and business stakeholders throughout the organization.
- Enthusiasm and “self-starter” qualities enabling him or her to manage responsibilities with an appropriate sense of urgency; the ability to function effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced & dynamic environment.
- Superior analytical ability, project management experience, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage internal customer priorities and needs.
- Ability to use or learn to use GitLab.
- Experience with AI or willingness to learn and incorporate AI into your workday.
