The Glen Echo Group, a creative communications firm with offices in Washington, D.C. and Chicago, IL., seeks an experienced communications professional to join our fast-growing, D.C.-based team. OVERVIEW: 

The Glen Echo Group is seeking a Spring Intern or Fellow who is passionate about technology, the Internet, public policy, and storytelling. You’ll be part of a small but mighty team supporting clients that range from innovative startups to leading trade associations and Fortune 500 companies. Want to have some fun, shape the conversation, and work on some niche, current events and tech policy issues that matter?

Our Intern role is open to candidates currently pursuing their undergraduate degree. Our Fellow role is open to candidates who will have completed their undergraduate degree prior to December 2025 and are ready to jump into hands-on communications work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Role duration: Our Spring 2026 Program runs from early January to mid-to-late May.

Role hours: We are prioritizing Interns/Fellows available for 40 hours a week in person, but will still consider part-time applicants as needed.

Role location: This role is based in our Washington, D.C. office on a hybrid basis. Interns and Fellows are expected to be in-person at the Glen Echo Group office 3 days per week.

ACCOUNTABILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Monitor and analyze traditional and social media
• Provide detailed overviews of events monitored in real-time
• Conduct research in support of clients and campaigns
• Help create social media strategy for clients/campaigns as well as content and copy
• Assist with the planning and execution of Glen Echo Group virtual and in-person events
• Create media/press lists
• Support media pitches and outreach
• Draft press releases/op-eds/articles and assist in pitching 

Essential skills:

• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Excellent writing skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines with changing priorities
• Strong research and analysis capabilities
• Familiarity with social media platforms, analytics and engagement
• The enthusiasm and desire to work hard both independently and part of a team
• Understanding of current and upcoming technology policy issues

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

Salary:

• Intern: $18 per hour
• Fellow: $22 per hour
