Sr Software Engineer

Hyderabad, Telangana, India

About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Java Engineer who loves solving real user problems through clean, scalable systems. You’ll be a hands-on builder in a small, empowered product team — designing APIs, optimizing performance, and helping shape product decisions through strong engineering judgment.

This role blends deep backend expertise with a product mindset — you won’t just write services, you’ll help define what those services should do and how they deliver measurable impact.

What You’ll Do

· Design, develop, and maintain scalable services and APIs using Java (Spring Boot) and AWS Lambda.

· Collaborate across teams: Partner with frontend engineers, QA, product, and design to deliver end-to-end features.

· Drive backend architecture: Shape how services are structured, secured, and observed.

· Apply product thinking: Understand user needs and business context when making design or trade-off decisions.

· Champion reliability and speed: Implement monitoring, alerting, and automated testing to ensure resilient releases.

· Integrate feature flag workflows: Work with GrowthBook, LaunchDarkly, or similar systems for progressive delivery.

· Mentor junior developers: Review code, share knowledge, and help raise the bar for backend excellence.

What You Bring

· 7–10 years of experience building backend systems and APIs in Java (Spring Boot or similar frameworks).

· Strong English communication skills — written and spoken.

· Proven experience building and deploying AWS Lambda and serverless architectures.

· Solid understanding of REST and GraphQL APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures.

· Familiarity with feature flags, CI/CD, and progressive delivery practices.

· Experience working with RDBMS (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and caching systems (Redis, DynamoDB).

· Strong focus on performance optimization, security, and observability (logs, metrics, traces).

· Proven ability to collaborate in cross-functional, product-driven teams.

Nice to Have

· Experience with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or CircleCI pipelines.

· Exposure to Cloudflare Workers, AWS Step Functions, or API Gateway.

· Familiarity with TypeScript or Node.js for full-stack collaboration.

· Knowledge of message queues (SQS, Kafka, RabbitMQ).

· Experience instrumenting metrics with Datadog, Grafana, or New Relic.

· Prior experience mentoring or leading small engineering initiatives.

How We Work

We organize around empowered product teams — engineers, designers, and PMs working together to deliver measurable outcomes, not just features. You’ll have ownership of your services, the freedom to innovate, and the accountability to deliver high-quality systems that matter to users.
