The role

We’re looking for a customer-centric Transaction Monitoring Analyst to join as a founding member of our newly established Transaction Monitoring team. You’ll be part of the wider Risk Operations team here at GoCardless where you'll help us to deliver an exceptional experience to our fast-growing Customer base, whilst ensuring we protect GC from financial crime risks.

This role will be based out of our office in Riga and working hours will be from 9.00 am - 06.00 pm (Mon - Fri). Some flexibility may be required occasionally. 

We are a 24x7 operation and require our employees to demonstrate a willingness to work on some bank holidays.

Location: As an office based position with the opportunity to work 2x day a week from home (after the probation period).

What excites you 

  • Conducting in-depth investigations into transactions, spotting unusual behaviour and presenting your analysis to internal stakeholders.
  • Carrying out enhanced due diligence reviews/complex risk assessments on our higher-risk customers and providing risk-based recommendations.
  • Assessing suspicious accounts or behaviours and completing detailed internal SARs (Suspicious Activity Reports) where required.
  • Taking ownership of new tools and processes, identifying inefficiencies and driving towards improvement and automation 
  • Working as part of a newly established team towards daily / weekly targets, helping build the team culture, knowledge and processes as you go. 

What excites us  

  • Strong Transaction Monitoring background and investigations experience. 
  • Experience in drafting unusual activity reports and an understanding of AML  typologies and transaction monitoring systems.
  • You have a flawless command of English and communicate clearly in speaking and writing, and are happy to support customers via email. 
  • You’ve worked as part of a team focusing on transaction monitoring and investigations or within a QC/QA team.
  • You're passionate about balancing AML requirements with a great customer experience, explaining our requirements effectively
  • You take pride in having strong attention to detail and always see tasks through to completion 
  • You're proactive, can pre-empt issues and are a creative problem solver
  • You have the ability to keep calm under pressure
  • You're comfortable working with internal stakeholders at all levels, upholding our core product & compliance requirements with a problem-solving approach
  • Fluency in French, German or Spanish is not a requirement but will be considered an advantage

Salary Range: €13000 - €20000 (Gross)

Base salary ranges are based on role, job level, location, and market data.  Please note that whilst we strive to offer competitive compensation, our approach is to pay between the minimum and the mid-point of the pay range until performance can be assessed in role. Offers will take into account level of experience, interview assessment, budgets and parity between you and fellow employees at GoCardless doing similar work.
