The Role
Our mission is to make GoCardless the best way to pay and be paid. Our ambition is to dramatically improve payment performance and safeguard our customers from bad outcomes like payment fraud and failures. You will build our payment intelligence products, leveraging GoCardless's vast network data and machine learning to create self-learning systems and features to solve complex customer problems.
Our existing Payment Intelligence Products are already one of the key reasons why customers choose GoCardless. These include Protect+, which defends customers from fraud, and Success+, which helps customers intelligently recover failed payments. You will need to set the strategy for GoCardless in this critical area and be able to communicate complex concepts in clear ways for a range of audiences, including execs, stakeholders, and our customers.- Own the Product Vision: Set the strategic direction.
- Champion our Customers: Translate a deep understanding of customer needs into cutting-edge, data-driven technology solutions.
- Drive the Data Flywheel: Collaborate with Data Platform teams to build the foundational data layer that powers continuous, network-wide performance enhancement.
- Empower the Frontline: Ensure our sales and support teams can clearly communicate and position the competitive strength of our intelligent solutions.
- Cutting-edge advancements in Data, AI, and Machine Learning within the payments space.
- Unlocking new layers of payment performance, from uncovering new fraud vectors to maximising success rates.
- A high-impact role blending commercial exposure, deep customer interaction, and complex technical solutions
- Building a unified, shared data layer that fuels performance across our entire network.
- Proven experience building and scaling AI/Machine Learning powered features in a Fintech or Payments environment.
- Exceptional track record of transforming a deep grasp of customer problems into successful products.
- The ability to define a forward-looking product direction in critical strategic areas, informed by the latest technology trends.
- A strong, influential understanding of data and data platforms, capable of shaping technical direction.
- Excellent communication skills, able to convey complex, technical concepts simply and engagingly to any audience.
- An excellent grasp of data, and the ability to make data-driven decisions and narratives
- Bonus points for: Experience building and scaling fraud prevention solutions within a Fintech.
