The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Senior Manager of Product Design to lead and grow our design presence in Bangalore while contributing to key initiatives within our Fleet Management product domain.

This role is both hands-on and organizationally pivotal. You will lead a team of designers working within Fleet Management—spanning areas such as compliance, driver identification, and operational workflows—delivering intuitive, scalable experiences across web and mobile platforms.

In parallel, you will serve as a local design leader for South Asia, supporting and mentoring designers across teams—many of whom may report into different managers globally. You’ll play a critical role in strengthening design culture on the ground, elevating craft, and ensuring designers in the region feel supported, connected, and set up to succeed.

You will also be instrumental in building and scaling our design team in India, helping us attract and hire exceptional talent in a highly competitive market.

You’ll partner closely with product, engineering, and global design leadership to deliver high-impact outcomes—while also bringing modern, AI-powered design and development workflows into how we build products.

If you’re a design leader who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys staying close to the craft, and is excited about building both products and teams from the ground up, this role is for you.

What you’ll do

Product & Design Leadership (Fleet Management)

  • Lead and support a team of designers contributing to our Fleet Management domain, including areas such as compliance, driver identification, and operational workflows.
  • Drive high-quality, user-centered design solutions that simplify complex workflows for fleet managers, drivers, and operations teams.
  • Partner with product and engineering to shape strategy, prioritize initiatives, and deliver impactful outcomes aligned with business goals.
  • Own design execution end-to-end—from early framing and concepting through detailed design, validation, and iteration.
  • Contribute to and evolve our design system to ensure consistency, scalability, and efficiency across platforms.

Regional Leadership (South Asia)

  • Serve as the on-the-ground design leader in Bangalore, supporting designers across multiple teams in the region.
  • Mentor and coach designers who may not directly report to you, helping elevate craft, execution quality, and career growth.
  • Foster a strong, connected design culture in South Asia, including team rituals, critiques, and knowledge sharing.
  • Act as a key connector between regional teams and global design leadership, ensuring alignment and strong collaboration.

Team Building & Hiring (India Focus)

  • Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of product designers based in Bangalore.
  • Play a hands-on role in hiring, including sourcing, interviewing, and closing top design talent in India.
  • Develop and execute strategies to attract and retain world-class design talent in a competitive market.
  • Help establish Bangalore as a center of excellence for product design within the organization.

AI-Native Design & Innovation

  • Champion the use of modern AI tools (e.g., Claude, Replit, v0, and others) to accelerate design exploration, prototyping, and delivery.
  • Introduce and scale AI-assisted workflows across design and cross-functional teams.
  • Stay at the forefront of emerging tools and practices, bringing new ideas into the organization.

Cross-functional Influence

  • Advocate for design excellence and a user-centric mindset across the organization.
  • Communicate design rationale clearly and persuasively to stakeholders, including senior leadership.
  • Align teams around a shared vision through strong storytelling and strategic thinking.

What you’ll need

  • 8–10+ years of experience in product design (UX/UI/interaction), with experience managing and growing design teams in a SaaS environment.
  • Proven track record designing complex, data-rich web and mobile products, ideally in fleet management, logistics, or similarly complex domains.
  • Experience working with distributed/global teams, with strong collaboration across time zones.
  • Demonstrated success hiring and scaling design teams, ideally in India or similar markets.
  • Experience mentoring designers across reporting lines or contributing to regional/team-wide design culture.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing:
    • End-to-end design thinking
    • Systems-level problem solving
    • High-quality execution
    • Measurable business impact
  • Deep experience with design systems and scaling them across products and teams.
  • Hands-on familiarity with modern AI tools and workflows (e.g., Claude, Replit, v0), and a strong point of view on how they reshape design and product development.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence across disciplines.
  • Strong business acumen and an understanding of how design drives product and company outcomes.
  • Curiosity, adaptability, and a bias toward action in a fast-moving environment.
