As a Staff Analyst, Engineering Excellence, you'll build the measurement foundation that R&D leadership relies on to make high-stakes decisions. Sitting at the intersection of data, engineering, and strategy, you'll define the metrics, dashboards, and insights that help leaders understand where to invest, what’s slowing teams down, and where quality or reliability may be at risk. Your work will directly influence how hundreds of engineers operate and how Gong scales its product development organization.

You’ll own:

• Defining and governing trusted engineering metrics across Reliability, Quality, Operational Excellence, and Engineering Effectiveness.
• Designing and maintaining dashboards, reporting mechanisms, and analytical assets that support R&D leadership and operational reviews.
• Building scalable measurement frameworks by partnering with Data and Analytics Engineering to model data across systems and ensure high-quality instrumentation.

You’ll solve:

• Limited visibility into engineering performance by creating clear, actionable measurement frameworks that align teams around the right priorities.
• Hidden risks impacting productivity, reliability, or customer experience by proactively identifying trends, surfacing issues, and driving data-informed decisions.

You’ll impact:

• R&D leadership’s ability to make strategic investment decisions based on trusted, organization-wide engineering insights.
• Engineering productivity, operational efficiency, platform reliability, and customer experience through data-driven recommendations and continuous performance visibility.

How You’ll Succeed Here:

• You bring 7+ years of experience in data analytics, product analytics, or SRE-adjacent roles, ideally within high-growth technology companies.
• You have strong analytical expertise, including advanced SQL skills, data modeling, KPI design, experimentation, statistical reasoning, and experience with BI platforms such as Looker, Tableau, Power BI, or Hex.
• You understand how modern engineering organizations operate, including software development lifecycles, agile methodologies, DORA metrics, reliability engineering, incident management, observability, and SLI/SLO frameworks.
• You are a strategic and independent thinker who can influence senior stakeholders, navigate ambiguity, constructively challenge assumptions, and translate complex analyses into actionable business outcomes.
