About the job
Goods & Services is looking for a Senior Cloud- Infrastructure Engineer to help build, scale, and maintain modern cloud-native applications. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a serverless-first environment and has hands-on experience designing, developing, and deploying production-grade solutions on AWS.
You will work within a highly automated ecosystem where infrastructure is defined as code, services communicate through event-driven architectures, and development is managed through a monorepo approach. The ideal candidate is comfortable owning solutions end-to-end, from infrastructure deployment to application development and operational excellence.
What you’ll do:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable serverless applications on AWS.
- Build and manage infrastructure using AWS CDK v2, including the creation and maintenance of multiple deployment stacks.
- Develop and optimize AWS Lambda functions using Node.js 22 and ARM64 architectures.
- Design and implement event-driven architectures leveraging Amazon EventBridge.
- Build asynchronous processing workflows using Amazon SQS and SNS.
- Support authentication and identity management solutions using Amazon Cognito and participate in the transition to Okta-based authentication services.
- Develop and optimize integrations with Aurora PostgreSQL Serverless v2 databases.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical solutions and architecture standards.
- Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and infrastructure automation.
- Contribute to the management and optimization of a Turborepo-based monorepo environment.
- Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and architectural decision-making.
What you’ll need:
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with a strong focus on cloud-native applications.
- Proven experience building and deploying production workloads on AWS.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS CDK v2 and Infrastructure as Code practices.
- Extensive experience developing AWS Lambda functions using Node.js.
- Solid understanding of event-driven architectures and asynchronous processing patterns.
- Experience with Amazon EventBridge, SQS, and SNS.
- Experience implementing authentication and authorization solutions using Amazon Cognito or similar identity providers.
- Strong experience with PostgreSQL databases, preferably Aurora PostgreSQL Serverless.
- Experience working within monorepo environments, preferably using Turborepo.
- Strong understanding of software design principles, system scalability, and distributed systems.
- Experience with Git-based development workflows and CI/CD automation.
- AI- Assisted Development experience required: Candidates must be fluent in VS Code and GitHub Copilot beyond basic autocomplete. Required skills include creating Copilot instruction files to provide repository context, building reusable prompt libraries for infrastructure automation, and leveraging Copilot Agent workflows to generate high-quality AWS CDK constructs, serverless configurations, and database-related code.
Preferred:
- Experience with Okta integrations or migrations.
- AWS certifications.
- Experience designing highly scalable, event-driven systems
