Senior Accountant

SUMMARY

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Accountant to support a wide range of accounting, compliance, and project-based initiatives. This role requires strong technical accounting knowledge, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and experience working across functions to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance, and operational efficiency.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Manage lease accounting, percent rent, and rent flux analyses.
  • Perform accrued expense analysis, including marketing budget and charity expenses.
  • Review and manage accrued purchases and month end inventory reports. Work with Production team and Supply chain team as needed to resolve issues. 
  • Ownership of sales tax process including the sales tax accrual, sales tax new store set up, sales tax code setup issue resolution. Assist with Sales tax review project with outside CPA firm. 
  • Support overall compliance requirements.
  • Prepare monthly and annual sales reporting. Including ownership of data automation and appropriate application of the lease.
  • Perform cash posting, including importing bank transactions, real-time posting, and weekly reconciliations across all bank accounts.
  • Manage UPS/FedEx payment tracking and accruals.
  • Support the year end audit. 
  • Lead and support numerous upcoming projects (e.g., international expansion, ADP payroll 401k projects, prepaid amortization setup, revenue system setup and improvements).
  • Ownership of revenue accounting. Drive data analytics initiatives, including integration with Shopify, Blue Onion and replacement for Blue Onion. 
  • Collaborate with business partners to ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial data.
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis and support for special projects as required.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
  • Public accounting and private experience preferred by not required. 
  • 3+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Proficiency with NetSuite/Shopify, BI/reporting tools, and Excel.
  • Experience with ADP, Blue Onion, and automation/data analytic tools a plus.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
  • Must be over the age of 18 
  • Ability to be flexible to the needs of the business
  • This position is remote with residence in Pacific Time Zone required
  • Strongly prefer residency in Southern California
