Paralegal- State Arbitration and Worker’s Compensation

We are seeking a motivated Paralegal to join our growing State Arbitration and Worker’s Compensation team. The ideal candidate will perform a variety of tasks, including legal document preparation, communication with medical offices, and preparing/filing State-Arbitration briefs.  

As a Paralegal at Gottlieb and Greenspan, you will be an integral part of our legal team, supporting attorneys in a diverse field of various states. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Draft, review, and/or analyze routine legal documents as requested by attorneys. 
  • Enter arbitration/case calendaring where appropriate to track filings and appropriately distribute information. 
  • Perform elements of case management, including electronic file management and schedule tracking. 
  • Regularly interact with clients to provide updates on their cases and to request further documentation.
  • Review briefs and filings for conformity with court-specific formatting, citation, and procedural requirements. 

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college required. 
  • Paralegal certification preferred, not required. 
  • Minimum 2+ years' work experience in a high-volume civil litigation practice as a paralegal.  (Ample training on the relevant cases will be provided).
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite/Excel. 
  • Experience developing and maintaining processes to organize and maintain electronic case files. 
  • Preference in coordinating trial/arbitration logistics in either New York or New Jersey.
  • Strong knowledge of legal terminology, court procedures, and document management. 
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Positive, collaborative outlook, and strong interpersonal skills. 
  • Preference for the ability to read and decipher medical EOBs 
  • Preferred familiarity with CPT coding 

Salary Range: $60,000-70,000 / year, commensurate with experience
