The Senior Accountant performs a critical role in developing and executing best-in-class accounting operations, resulting in an accurate 3-day month end close. This candidate will have at least 3 years of month end experience, including account reconciliation experience.  Ensuring accuracy and completeness of GovOS’ ledger accounts by preparing journal entries, performing reconciliations, and conducting flux analysis to support a timely and accurate close. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, a successful Senior Accountant is a highly motivated individual demonstrating high attention to detail with excellent communication skills, asks questions and seeks to understand. This solutions-focused candidate will use their strong accounting background to scale full cycle accounting operations in a rapid growth, fast pace, SaaS Environment. 

  

Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Lead timely and accurate preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly journal entries and reconciliations, resulting in an accurate 3-day month end close.  
  • Perform weekly bank reconciliations for all bank accounts, communicate cash balances and cash requirements weekly. 
  • Manage the existing automated Accounts Payable Process to ensure GL accuracy and proactively identify and communicate budget to actual variances to the Accounting Manager.
  • Reconcile employee credit card transactions and expense reimbursements from Ramp to NetSuite and ensure GL accuracy.
  • Perform monthly financial statement analysis. 
  • Assist in implementing new accounting policies and procedures while identifying opportunities to scale and enhance the efficiency of accounting operations.
  • Perform ad-hoc reporting and analysis as requested.  

Qualifications:  

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with a strong background in month-end accounting operations, treasury, and accounts payable operations.
  • Excellent communication skills, detail oriented, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively in a high growth, high transaction volume department.
  • Solid foundation and understanding of how transactions flow throughout financial statements
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) and ability to organize and analyze financial data
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • NetSuite experience.
  • Ramp experience is preferred.
