
Performance Analyst – Contract
We are looking for a Performance Analyst to help teams understand how well services are performing, what success looks like, and how to improve outcomes for users. You will measure goals, user needs and benefits, analyse user behaviour, and turn data into clear, actionable insight that drives prioritisation and decision-making.
You will work as an embedded member of multidisciplinary delivery teams throughout the service lifecycle, partnering closely with Product Managers, User Researchers and designers. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working with data, asking the right questions, and influencing decisions through evidence rather than opinion.
What you’ll do
- Work as an embedded member of delivery teams, providing analytical support throughout service design and delivery
- Partner with Product Managers to define what success looks like and support evidence-based prioritisation
- Develop and maintain performance measurement frameworks across GovTech services and products
- Implement and manage tracking systems, and regularly analyse service performance against defined KPIs and goals
- Develop and test hypotheses about user behaviour and service performance using data
- Ensure data accuracy, reliability and statistical significance across all measurement activities
- Create clear, compelling data visualisations and dashboards to communicate insight effectively
- Present analysis and recommendations to teams, leadership and stakeholders using appropriate formats
- Work closely with User Researchers to integrate quantitative data with qualitative user insight
- Involve product and delivery teams in analytics and measurement to build shared understanding and challenge assumptions
- Produce recommendations in accessible formats such as dashboards, presentations and concise reports
- Support teams in making evidence-based decisions about prioritisation and service improvements
- Apply quality assurance techniques to data collection and analysis processes
What you’ll bring
- Strong experience using analytical tools, with a proven ability to collect, clean, validate and interpret data to produce meaningful, actionable insight
- A solid understanding of web analytics and user behaviour, with hands-on experience using tools such as Google Analytics or similar platforms
- The ability to represent the needs of users by synthesising data from multiple sources and turning it into insight teams can act on
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex analysis into clear, concise messages for a range of audiences, including senior stakeholders
- Experience working as part of agile, multidisciplinary delivery teams
- A track record of partnering effectively with Product Managers to inform prioritisation and strategic decision-making
- Experience analysing services across different stages of the service lifecycle
- The ability to work within real-world constraints, including technology, policy, regulatory, financial, legal, ethical, social and user considerations
- Confidence identifying appropriate data sources, validating data quality, and interpreting results accurately
- An understanding of quality assurance techniques and how they apply to data collection and analysis
- The ability to communicate insights clearly and build confidence in data use among non-technical team members
