Summary

A dynamic and skilled professional to serve in a dual role as a Vulnerability Management and Infrastructure Support Engineer. This hybrid position combines responsibilities for managing and mitigating vulnerabilities across our IT ecosystem with providing Level 3 support for critical infrastructure issues. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver with expertise in both cybersecurity tools and IT infrastructure management.

This role will heavily leverage tools such as Darktrace, Carbon Black, DeepSeas SOC, Tenable AD, and Nessus to secure the organization's infrastructure.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


Vulnerability Management

  • Perform regular vulnerability scans and assessments across systems, networks, and applications using tools like Tenable AD, Nessus, and other vulnerability management platforms.
  • Monitor and respond to security alerts and recommendations generated by Darktrace, Carbon Black, and DeepSeas SOC.
  • Analyze and remediate vulnerabilities based on business impact and risk levels.
  • Collaborate with IT and security teams to implement patches, updates, and secure configurations for identified vulnerabilities across IT and IS systems.
  • Maintain and optimize the organization's vulnerability management tools and ensure their accurate configurations and integrations.
  • Generate detailed reports on vulnerability remediation progress.
  • Stay informed about emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation techniques, particularly as they relate to tools like Darktrace and Carbon Black.
  • Act as the liaison between the Infrastructure, Information Systems, Help Desk teams as well as end users to act on recommended remediation actions and alerts.

 

Level 3 Infrastructure Support

  • Act as the escalation point for complex infrastructure issues, ensuring timely resolution with minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve incidents related to servers, storage, networking, and cloud environments.
  • Collaborate with Level 1 and Level 2 support teams to address recurring issues and optimize incident management processes.
  • Participate in managing and maintaining infrastructure components, including Windows/Linux servers, virtualization platforms (e.g., Hyper-V), cloud environments (Azure), Certificate Stores and Active Directory.
  • Monitor system performance and proactively address potential bottlenecks or failures.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to provide after-hours support for critical incidents.
  • Participate in KPI management and remediation.

 

Shared Responsibilities

  • Participate in the development and revision of IT policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Support compliance efforts by ensuring systems adhere to regulatory frameworks and internal security policies.
  • Assist in incident response activities by providing insights into vulnerabilities and infrastructure dependencies.
  • Provide training and guidance to team members on advanced troubleshooting techniques and use of tools such as Darktrace, Carbon Black, and Tenable AD.
  • Work closely with IT department members to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the company's products, services, and IT infrastructure.
  • Conduct regular system audits and prepare performance reports for management review.
  • Assist in IT project implementation, including system upgrades, migrations, and new installations.
  • Maintains a well-organized and clean layout in defined storage areas.
  • Maintains regular attendance including being at work, being on time to work and working full shifts.

Summary of Education, Experience & Certification

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity or related field, minimum 3 years of experience in IT infrastructure support and/or vulnerability management, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, MCSE, or Azure certifications are highly desirable.
  • Proficiency with vulnerability management tools such as Nessus, Tenable AD, Darktrace, and Carbon Black.
  • Experience working with managed security service providers.
  • Strong understanding of server, network, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Experience with ITIL-based support processes and methodologies.

 

Employees working on programs subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations must qualify as a US Person which is defined as a US Citizen, a Permanent Resident who does not work for a foreign company/foreign government/foreign governmental agency or organization, or a political asylee for legal compliance purposes.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

 

  • Advanced troubleshooting skills for complex technical issues.
  • Capability to research and propose strategies.
  • Solid understanding of operating systems (Windows, Linux), networking protocols, and virtualization technologies.
  • Knowledge of security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001) and patch management best practices.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Scripting experience (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
  • Hands-on experience with GRC tools or SIEM platforms.
  • Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical users.
  • Experience with ITSM or help desk software.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Experience Administering Active Directory Users, Groups and Computers in Windows Server 2022.
  • Ability to ensure effective follow-up and follow-through.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions within all levels of an organization.
  • Ability to problem solve with limited to no established process and guidance and to interpret instructions.

The expected WA salary range for this position is between $99,000.00 - $137,00.00 USD. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, education, location, and other factors permitted by law.
