Summary

The Manager, Installation Planning is responsible for overseeing the development, integration, and execution of detailed project schedules to support aircraft completions, modifications, and installation programs. This role ensures that resources are effectively allocated, work is sequenced efficiently, and customer delivery timelines are achieved. The Manager will lead a team of planners and schedulers, collaborating cross-functionally with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Program Management to drive operational excellence and schedule adherence.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Planning team responsible for organizing and scheduling aircraft system installations, upgrades, and routine maintenance.
  • Develop and manage short-term and long-term maintenance and installation plans to meet operational and regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze project plans, identify critical path activities, and proactively address potential schedule risks.
  • Coordinate with engineering, maintenance, supply chain, and flight operations teams to ensure seamless execution of planned work.
  • Oversee planning for modifications including cabin refurbishments, avionics upgrades, and STC (Supplemental Type Certificate) installations.
  • Ensure accurate forecasting of manpower, materials, and downtime requirements for planned activities.
  • Track and manage installation timelines and maintenance events using computerized maintenance tracking systems.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable aviation regulations (e.g., FAA, EASA), OEM guidelines, and company policies.
  • Provide leadership, training, and mentorship to planning staff, fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in cross-functional planning meetings and project reviews, offering strategic planning insights.
  • Support audits, inspections, and continuous airworthiness management through accurate documentation and planning records.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Summary of Education, Experience & Certification

Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Maintenance, Aeronautical Engineering, Project Management, or related field (or equivalent experience) preferred.  Minimum of 5 years’ experience in aircraft maintenance or installation planning, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.  Experience in VIP or VVIP aircraft completions programs preferred.  FAA A&P License or equivalent (preferred); familiarity with STC/modification planning and maintenance tracking systems (e.g., ProMRO, AMOS, TRAX, CAMP).

This safety-sensitive position is covered by the Department of Transportation's (DOT) Drug and Alcohol Testing Program. Any applicant selected for this position will be subject to pre-employment drug testing. Persons occupying a "safety-sensitive” position will be subject to random drug and/or alcohol testing. Post-accident, reasonable cause, and return-to-duty tests may also be required based on specific circumstances. 

Due to government regulations and contract specifications, we are required to fill this position only with an individual who qualifies as a U.S. Citizen.

 

 Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong understanding of aircraft systems, installation programs, and maintenance planning processes.
  • Excellent project management, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in planning software, MS Office, and maintenance documentation systems.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple complex projects with strict deadlines.
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on problem-solving and operational efficiency.
  • Primarily office-based with regular coordination visits to maintenance facilities and installation sites.
  • May involve flexible working hours, occasional travel, and support during off-peak maintenance windows or project milestones.

 

The expected WA salary range for this position is between $110,000.00 - $151,000.00 USD. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, education, location, and other factors permitted by law.
